Street & Traffic Signs

Case Date:
10/10/2022

Traffic Calming maintenance request: street markings and posts beside each traffic bump need refresh. Streets: E. Longview, Morningside Drive, N. Glenwood west and east. All traffic calming bumps need the striping repainted to mark the bump. All bumps need the poles and reflectors checked. Some poles missing, many reflectors damaged/missing. This has caused a hazard for vehicles who do not see the bumps due to faded markings and the vehicles traveling too fast and potential damage to vehicles. The marking DID get refreshed this past summer on parts of Morningside, thanks! Now we need similar action on E. Longview and the two Glenwood sections. I have submitted similar requests in the past but do not see them on file except for one for a missing post (2014). Please followup as this area (E. Longview) is an important connector to the City bike paths that connect to the Polly Grimshaw trail. Thank you - Park Ridge Neighborhood Association/Steve Akers

In the Grandview neighborhood, especially on Post Road, the asphalt is cracked and missing in several places. Grandview Avenue seems to be all right, but in addition to Post Rd, Staats and Kerry need work.

Unsafe Buildings

Case Date:
12/1/2022

My smoke detector has went off for weeks. After notifying a staff office member she was very dismissive and rude about it. And it's still not fixed and worries me. Clogged sink. Light bulbs in bathroom and microwave over light. Bathroom has mold. Black mold. Smoke detector hanging from my son's room by wire and they never sent maint. Drugs and needles (what I believe must have been drugs) many times in the hallways staircases and elevator. Used condom wrappers in hallways and staircases.

On September 20, 2022, I was riding my bicycle on the 10th street trail near the eastside Post Office. I saw a man on a scooter coming toward me, in the middle of the trail, riding very fast. I maneuvered to avoid him and crashed my bike, rolling onto the pavement and grass. I was hoping my hurt ankle was only a sprain, but I could not walk on it. The next day, I went to a walk-in orthopedic clinic and learned my foot was broken in 4 places. I am still recovering. Please include this instance in any records the City keeps about scooters. Although a ban on scooters is unlikely, some limits on speed and place may help reduce incidences like mine. Thank you.

Temporary Signage w/o permit

Case Date:

Another sign without permission in right of way at Rogers and Hillside for Lighthouse Academy. I'm not sure why we are allowing an openly bigoted and discriminatory institution to post signs around town without recourse. Please remove them. They can recruit without illegal use of public lands.

You know it really something in the shadow of the city of bloomington Indiana running schooner creek out of famers market for respecting the 3rd reich & T4 exploitation of forms of population controls. You know whats really funny after all the lock downs and kings control is to read the news of admitting the lies he placated Fauci saying the vax's dont protect from respiratory chi com virus 19. there seeems to be a strong anti-asian sediment within bloomington and i have felt racially discriminated against by having services denied or prolonged due to purposeful errors. I have heard social workers make comments such as "I hoped he'd leave "and tell others seeking services not to talk with me and ignore him. I came here after completing residential rehab at hickory treatment in linton. At centerstone after waiting for insurance approval, which was granted, I was told they felt I only need peer support- not the outpatient treatment that's always a follow up to inpatient and housing etc along side. I went to shalom where i was already on the national permanent supportive housing list for at list a year in Indiana but originally qualified do to homelessness in Kentucky. I also needed Photo i.d- cost of $11.50- without which i can do nothing. This was in january with it taking 3 weeks(notified them of return twice do to incomplete paperwork and then incorrect amount) for the check to be cut. On second week now waiting for check. As stated earlier i was already approved for housing on national list and been on local list for 3 months. I know people start fresh and already been housed and people lose their housing and get re-housed while I still at wheeler mission. This was at shalom center and I filed a complaint with the attorney general on the issued with my I.D At wheeler i get kinding blowed off. I went the food stamp office to get aid but my case worker there didnt send the fax correctly so my case was closed. Meanwhile I know that theres mostly donated so the food may switched up during serving but definately have gotten smaller portions and food that been grossly overcooked. As the only asian in this situation i have to say its definately discrimatory action at all three place-all verifiable. I really want to rally against these actions and my treatment- as homeless and an individual felt it would go unheard- Come to find out at IU there a group of medical students called MAPS i believe that are mostly asian and have felt discrimation in bloomington also. I only feel it fair to notify you as you may not even be aware and give you the oppertunity to correct the situation. I pray the you can react in a timely manner and contact me shortly with solutions on this matter. James Hale 812-671-8665
