accumulation of leaves damming up storm drain, causing flooding of street and becoming traffic hazard.
The storm drains along high street and into Sycamore Knolls are still blocked from the new trail construction and I just want to make sure that’s on purpose.
There is a line of sight issue when pulling out onto N Walnut St from the alley just north of 1111 N Walnut St. There is a privacy fence lining the west edge of the sidewalk, and the trees in the yard of this address are encroaching into the sidewalk area and blocking the view looking southward.
Can the City not require the Indiana Railroad to install some type of flashing light, larger warning sign or something to help prevent this from happening? There has been an increasing amount of trucks hitting this bridge, at least 6 in the past year that I'm aware of.
In connection with uReport Case #178466, I now request that the intersection of Fairview and 13th Street be converted into a four way stop. If BPD is unable to enforce traffic laws due to staffing issues while there is an identifiable problem that causes citizens to fear for the safety of their body as well as their personal property, then there needs to be more constraints on the ability for people to get up to high speed on a residential street. Thank you.
Trees overhang making it hard to service the bus stop
The North/South alley between 810 W. 7th and 804 W. 7th is being encroached upon by gardens, woodpiles, trees/vegetation and possibly the fence and cinder block garage owned by 810 W 7th St. As a result, the alley traffic is being diverted outside of the alley right of way and onto the private property located at 804 W. 7th. This appears to have been going on for a number of years. As the new owner of 804 W. 7th St., it is my full intention to re-claim the property/property line currently being encroached upon and proceed with renovations. I request that the Street Dept contact the owner of 810 W. 7th and order the encroachments be removed. With the assistance of a surveyor, I have located the NW and SW corner pins delineating the right of way and pounded new T posts just outside of the right of way in those spots and plan to post the entire property line once the encroachments are removed. Were I to reclaim the property line today, the alley would become impassible due to said encroachments. I request your assistance in remedying this situation in a civil and legal manner, as requests to the homeowner of 810 W.7th have fallen upon deaf ears. I request that you keep me in the loop regarding this issue. I would be happy to meet with a representative of the street dept, with survey in hand, to assist in clarifying and remedying this issue, as renovations of 804 W. 7th will begin in a few weeks. Unclear if this is the right address and the for sale sign just recently disappeared. However, due to heavy rains, this empty lot has several “trees” (overgrown weeds?) that have started to block the sidewalk and also fall towards the neighboring houses/fences. Needs cleared out badly to avoid injuring the people and pets using the sidewalks if one suddenly falls. Contacted realtor a couple months back to notify lot owner and she indicated she would but no action has occurred to remedy the increasingly dangerous situation.
The street is torn up across Grant and has been for months. Since bikes cannot travel on Lincoln, many use Grant as an alternative. Going across the ripped up pavement as you head across 3rd St is uncomfortable on a bike, especially when trying to quickly cross Third. I hope there are plans to repair this section soon to make travel easier for all modes of transportation.
