Trash

120 Kingston Dr S, Bloomington, IN 47408, USA

Case Date:
7/25/2023

Trash went uncollected for upward of a week and a half; management refused to deal with the issue or send emails informing us of alternative trash removal. They instead put cones with paper writing on it saying “Don’t throw away trash.” The paper quickly disintegrated due to time and weather. We were left without services which impacted our ability to take out trash, resulting in bugs and an abnormal uptick in pests.

Trash

120 Kingston Dr S, Bloomington, IN 47408, USA

Case Date:
7/29/2023

For two weeks now, the only dumpster at Town and Country, managed by Distinct Management, has been stuffed and overflowing. The only time in those two weeks that the trash has been removed was this Monday, and even then the debris surrounding the dumpster had been left to sit and rot. Cones had been placed to tell people to not put trash in front of the dumpster, and the signs were worn down in just a couple of days. Now the cones have been moved away and trash is now blocking the even the dumpster from being able to be emptied by the trash companies. This trash pile-up is attracting a large amount of pests and is making it hard for us to dispose of the waste in our own homes.

Sewer Problems (Sanitary Sewers)

120 Lexington Ave, Bloomington, IN 47408, USA

Case Date:
1/19/2021

There apparently is a blockage in my sewer drainage pipe to the main sewer line on N Lexington Drive. Waste water is backed up from the sewer main to my house. I have an inspection port in my drain about 3 ft from the edge of the street and the waste water fills the drain pipe about 3 ft from the street, or about 10 feet from the city sewer line. Problem started ca.3:30 pm yesterday (Monday) afternoon.

Drainage or Runoff

120 S Park Ridge RD

Case Date:
5/20/2020

Water and debris continuously builds up on the west side of the street. The road slopes to the west side and there are no nearby stormwater drains. The closest drain is 1/2 block north on the opposite side of the street. This picture is directly in front of my house. The pavement at this site erodes due to all the standing water and debris and requires consistent patching. I have lived at this address for 16 years and this has been an ongoing problem. I have concerns this will only get worse as there is a new bus route starting in August which will be using this stretch of the road several times a day. I am told the road is to be resurfaced this summer however, without a proper drain system in place this will not resolve the problem. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Biking & Walking

120 S Park Ridge RD

Case Date:
6/3/2020

I'm very concerned about the new surfacing on E. 3rd by the State, but I know the City supported it. I know there was not going to be a physical barrier at this point but did think the bike lanes would at least by wide. Please please make sure they are wider than the ones on N. Smith or very very few will feel safe using them. I supported the project as thought it would give me a biking option, but I'm fearful now it'll just be slimmer roads and no real bikable upgrade. Thanks for any input you can give the State!

Trash

120 S, 120 Kingston Dr S, Bloomington, IN 47408, USA

Case Date:
7/25/2023

The managers at Distinct Management have been neglecting their responsibilities as landlords to maintain a clean environment and provide the necessary accommodations to facilitate proper disposal of waste by their residents. This picture was taken 24 July in the afternoon. The context of this picture is that the trash bin was stuffed by 15 July. By 17 July, it was overflowing. That entire week, there was not a single trash collection, and the waste piled up and piled up. The dumpster was finally cleared the morning of 24 July. In less than 4 hours, it went from empty to this state. This is also after I saw people sent by management to clean up the waste around the bin. The trash is only more built up today. There is only this small trash bin for over 50 units in this complex, and it is constantly overfilled. With move-out season, the problem is much worse. Please require them to add additional/larger waste disposal facilities.
