The microwave light has been out as well as two in my bathroom in which I've asked them to reach several times and I am disabled with hip replacements so it isn't a possibility for me to do so. Stairway has harmful items blocking the door. Stairway has harmful items such as Ziploc bag next to a needle appearing to not have a covering so the pointy tip side is visibly out and I notified staff in case a child or anyone incidentally gets hurt or stabbed with it. Window screen appears to have huge slit in it Heat not working all winter and fall in which I personally purchased a small portable heater. All detectors beeps but they do not assist me to replace making me very concerned for my safety.

What is going on with catlytic convertors being stolen in this town? Two were just stolen in my neighborhood. Seems like this shouldn't be a problem in a small college town. Have you all investigated the places in town where these could be being sold on a black market?

Parking on Unimproved Surface

Case Date:
12/1/2022

All semester, two cars have always parked going the wrong way in front of 1107 W 6th St. Recently, the number of cars increased by one. Last night there were four cars all parked going the wrong way on that section of the street. There is no reason for this, and the violators should be ticketed. Thanks.

Sidewalk & Curb Complaints

710 E Maxwell LN

Case Date:
12/2/2022

Ever since the city installed curb bump-outs for on-street parking some years ago, drivers have been blowing out tires and ruining wheel hubs at the southeast corner of Maxwell Lane and South Fess, usually as they are driving south on Fess and turning east onto Maxwell. I know this issue has come up before, and various solutions have been tried, but something more substantive needs to happen -- either reduce the projection of the curb or get rid of the bump-out altogether. I would estimate 15-20 drivers a year hit this curb. Yesterday, it happened twice. One driver was lucky and just blew out a tire. The second had to call a tow truck, which we see over and over again. Each driver thinks he/she is the only one to do this, so they don't think to tell the city. Please do something to fix this problem. It's costing people time and money on a regular basis. Thanks!

Street Trees

3857 S Mill Stone WAY

Case Date:
12/3/2022

Tree at Sare & Mill Stone Way damaged by contractor work and city work over several months. Looks like all the work is finally done. Tree needs to be taken care of please, i.e., proper trimming of broken and dangling branches, some are cracked making the tree vulnerable to critters and disease. Also, at least one branch is dangling in the line of traffic, it is not safe.
