I tried to describe this issue over the phone but the street dept. employee only wanted to blame my driveway for destroying the city street. What?? The problem is the street gutters. When the 800 block of Briarcliff was repaved about 6 years ago, it was ground down and the asphalt was carried into the gutter and made for a smooth transition to the remaining gutter concrete. The 900 block of Briarcliff was not ground down and repaved at that time. We are still waiting for the rest of Briarcliff to be repaved properly. In the 900 block the street's asphalt is approx. 3 inches higher than the concrete gutter so when you include the yard side of the gutter we have one enormous gully. I know of one broken ankle because of this and two weeks ago the Amazon driver twisted his ankle stepping into the gully getting out of his truck. I had asked about putting concrete in the gully in front of my mailbox and was told by street employee NO, that would destroy the street. So what can be done to either pave the gutter in the 900 block like the 800 block or grind down the street pavement in the 900 block so it makes a smooth transition with the gutter. I know what I would do but the city owns the street. We on the 900 block pay the same city tax rate as the 800 block so I think we should have the same street setup. I did ask the street employee to bring out a two wheel drive vehicle and try to drive through the gutter. Not surprised no one showed up. Thanks

Lots of excessive front yard and back yard growth. The back yard also contains a myriad of trash items such as old toilets which have been collecting water. My pest control company says mosquitoes won't get better here until something is done over there.

I saw people at Bryan Park yesterday with lawn chairs. They had open cans (unidentifiable as to whether it was alcohol or not) and were smoking right next tot he kids play area (where the crocodile? bench was). I was wondering if people were allowed to smoke in the park and whether people are allowed to consume alcohol at the park. If they are not allowed to, how can I report this problem in a timely manner? Thank you.

Usually I'm don't usually complain about the police department as you all do amazing work around the city. But this morning had to be the most terrifying thing I've encountered. At about 6:45am I'm getting ready to take my dog out, and whenever I take her out before daylight I'm always aware of my surroundings, as I'm always afraid something is going to happen, and in this city you never know. I open the door to go out and noticed my dog is a little more anxious than usually. An out of the corner of my eye I notice this man in all black coming up from behind my house in my yard, and between my car and the neighbors fence doesn't say one word to me as noted it was dark out. Now at this point being in dark clothing and in my yard, I literally thought I was going to have a panic attack cause i had no idea who it was and hurried my dog back inside. Had literally no idea this dude was a police officer as he didn't say a word to me and on that side of the house you can't see his patrol car. So when I go back in and calm myself down, I look out the window towards the other side of my house and notice his patrol car. I don't mind the police being in my yard for whatever reason but at least they could of done was said something when I walked out. Is this standard for you to be in someones yard and not announce yourself? I dont know cause I'm not a police officer. But it would have been great to know as they literally scared me. I don't know how many people have to report this vehicle as being left, unmoved and unregistered for the past 2 years. I know at least 2 neighbors have reported it and it's still sitting there. White Aurora, maybe an Oldsmobile? License plate expired in July 2019 and it's not moved since that before that time. The woman who owns the car has MULTIPLE other cars that she's driving but hasn't touched that one in the two years it's been sitting there. The bumper hangs over and blocks the sidewalk, the snowplows have to work around it because it never gets moved. They've plowed the snow up behind it which makes it difficult to see around. WHY is this vehicle still here???
