On the NW corner of 10th and Forrest there is a hazardous situation. There is no sidewalk along Forrest, but there is on 10th. When someone is walking south on Forrest on the west side of the street, the person must walk in a grassy area that looks a bit like a sidewalk from a distance, though it is only grass. When that person gets to the intersection with 10th Street, there is a drop-off of about 4 inches to the 10th Street sidewalk that is unexpected and jarring. Perhaps a little ramp there would improve the situation, though the addition of a sidewalk along Forrest would be a more ideal remedy. It is not clear if this is a City or a Campus issue, so please forward if this request should be sent to IU instead.
North Walnut Grove is now a one-way street going north and around the Geology Building via East Cottage Grove. City Parking occurs on both sides of the Walnut Grove. Many people continue to consider this a two-way street even though no stop sign exists on the corner of 10th and Walnut Grove. A one-way sign pointing north is needed at the corner of 10th and Walnut Grove. Cheers, T.
When cars turn off of 10th st onto sunrise or in to the parking lot at teter quad, the light turns red for 10th st needlessly.
Hate speech that has been on the street for quite a while
Hi. This is a friendly note to tell you that the new 4th Street Garage has a trash can on the exteror, Southwest corner, that hasn't been emptied since it was first placed there. It's definetely full and is in need of being emptied. I've mentioned this twice to parking garage attendants (via video chat at the exit) but wanted to be sure someone is aware. Thanks very much. This large pine tree has been overgrowing the sidewalk (on right side of Landmark facing 3rd) for years. I walk this block everyday, and this chokepoint, where narrow sidewalk and street blend together, pushes me dangerously close to oncoming traffic. For fast traffic heading north on Landmark, this is a blind bend for anyone approaching from other direction. A large truck or van could easily sideswipe a pedestrian trying to step around tree limbs.
