The sidewalk on both side of our driveway have become a major trip hazard with about a 5 or 6 inch drop. We have small children that have tripped and fallen due to the root system of the trees that have caused the sidewalk to raise and crack. Additionally, small animals seem to make their way under the sidewalk.

Is the City responsible for retaining walls alongside walkways or does it fall on adjacent property owners to maintain them? On the Lincoln side of this property there is an old wall that is just about to collapse. It seems that if a team of masons got in there now prior to its failure, they might be able to take it apart somehow and reset it so that it will last another 130 years. But if it were to fall on its own, the stones would likely all break up and be useless trash. Property owner (Parker Rentals) is aware of the potential problem, but they do not seem to care. The surrounding area has many retaining walls that add character to the community. It would be great if this one could be saved.

The tree/roots between the sidewalk and road between 2704 and 2702 E Brigs Bnd has caused the sidewalk to tilt and hold water. This will pose an icy surface and is difficult with my walker. I also am concerned the water will cause damage to my driveway. Is this something you can look into. Thank you. V/R Kenneth Crevier

Dear Madam/Sir, I am writing to report an issue concerning the curb and storm drain located at the southern end of Stratford Dr, in front of our residence (3020 S Stratford Dr, Bloomington IN, 47401). The curb is currently obstructed by leaves, twigs, and organic sediment (as shown in the attached photo), impeding effective drainage during rainfall. As a result, our front yard experiences flooding with every rain shower. We kindly request that the curb and its immediate surroundings be thoroughly cleaned to restore proper drainage functionality. Once this maintenance is completed, we are committed to maintaining the storm drain area to ensure its continued effectiveness. Thank you for your attention to this matter. The right side of the street has no parking signs that can't be seen and no part of the curb is yellow. Starting at the first house as it curves numerous cars like to park at night on that side going up to spring Street. From the first house up 2 the first stop sign have people. Parking on the no parking side. We've asked them 2 stop, but maybe because this is a dead end street the city hasn't addressed the brush blocking the signs And no yellow curbs. My girlfriend hit a truck parked illegally at night last week. Sorry. To ramble but we need this addressed B4 someone gets hurt/ and or winter gets here
Can the sidewalk at xxx East 7th Street be shaved down to eliminate the height difference between the two adjoining slabs? See photo attached. This height difference can be dangerous for westbound cyclists riding on the sidewalk who need to negotiate both a quick right turn and a left turn to enter the SR46 underpass. Now that an asphalt multi-use path has been built at Relato Bloomington at the intersection of Pete Ellis Drive and Longview Avenue, westbound cyclists are more apt to ride on the path/sidewalk vs. the street, and will continue to ride on the sidewalk all the way to the underpass. Cyclists will be going at speed since it is downhill westbound. To negotiate this sidewalk height disparity, while at the same time negotiating a sweeping turn, poses a dangerous situation that can be easily eliminated.
AEG is installing fiber in my neighborhood and they have been putting their heavy trucks and boring machine on the sidewalk. The sidewalk from 14th to 17th on the west side of Rogers was already all cracked up from age but this is the straw that breaks the camels back. It is definitely much worse than it was a week ago, over almost the entire length. I want to make sure the homeowners aren't held responsible for this damage. It would have lasted years more without heavy trucks on it but now its decidedly concave and will almost certainly start giving up big chunks in the next winter.
