A large storm sewer grate has been removed and apparently thrown down into the hole created. It appears to be vandalism. We have placed 2 saw horses on either side as a temporary warning. It is unsafe and needs to be addressed no later than Monday morning.
Drain at North end of Boulder court and countryside lane clogged with debris
Behind my home in Winslow Woods is a culvert that the city never maintains. It is now flooding with water and the water is creeping up towards all our homes on Azalea Lane.
Due to the rain yesterday, my basement has flooded and many others in Winslow Farms have as well. There is not enough drainage in place to handle the water that comes to my immediate area with a heavy rain. I have a storm drain in the backyard between my home and the neighbors. This drain is not sufficient to deal with the water for this whole area. Many times during the year in heavy rains, this drain gets overwhelmed and we get a large pool in backyard. Unfortunately, this time, the water rose to a point where it entered into my basement and I am now dealing with many thousands in damage. It seems that someone from the city needs to come analyze the drainage situation in this area of Winslow farms and some additional drainage systems or drains need to be added. Storm drain at the noted location and the one across it are clogged with branches and debris. There is also debris from road paving (asphalt) next to it.
Due to the storm on Friday night we have a lot of run off rock and old concrete from the ditches above our house on Ruby and Covenanter. Since we are the last house where the ditches turn, we get all of the debris. Can someone from the city please come and clean up our ditch (with the truck that sucks up rocks, etc.)along Ruby and Covenanter? Our front lawn grass is full of rock and mud from the flow of water on Friday night. Due to a crack in the curb and an uneven grade, all of the water in our cul de sac floods the water meter cover and my driveway and backyard when it rains.
in the back end of our property we have a storm Storm pipe set up between me and my neighbor. This past weekend we had a storm where the pipe was pushing out alot of water causing it to cave in the ground and crowding the sides of the channel. It has been causing the sides to collapse and making the channel wider taking from the land. I placed some rocks to keep the storm water from damaging the channel last year. yet We will need to add some extra rocks to hold it in place since it can't withstand the pressure as shown in the attached image. Hi, We know that this property has a new owner and was purchased earlier this year. Due to the storms on Friday night of last week...there is a lot of debris blocking the ditch and culvert. We are expecting rain again tomorrow and this weekend. Can the city contact the new owners to come and clean up their culvert and ditch along High street before the impending rains this weekend? This affects the whole neighborhood and will cause backups of water. Thank you.
The storm drains have been very clogged on the 500 block of south Woodlawn well before the cicadas and excessive rainfall. These need to be cleared to prevent cars from hydroplaning in standing water and “sidewalk tsunamis” that hit pedestrians when a car passes. Thank you.
