Lisa Merchant 502.939.6538 called to express concern about homeless/transient population on Kirkwood becoming more assertive and aggressive. Daughter (rising IU junior) works at Pitaya and is approached daily, including being asked outright for her take-out food container yesterday. Lisa called BPD and was told that police hands are tied due to the city's stance on the issue. She said she worries that her daughter will be unsafe while walking to her car after work once it gets dark earlier, and suggests that a reserve BPD officer be available to "walk girls to their cars" after sundown. Just wants to be added to the broader list of concerns about city homeless.

One that he had previously reported is now covered with a metal sheet, but he was hoping that could be repaired in addition to a new one nearby. He didn't give much description about the location.
