The portion of my property with a utilities right of way and that I am maintain is now blocked in a hazardous way. I open my gate as of yesterday May 2, 2024 to a deep 2-3 foot hole that now has 2 large pipes sticking up above ground level constituting a direct hazard to my rightful access. The company (Flagship Underground-phone: 773-964-9045) claims to be laying fiberoptic cable and said they were trying to locate the sewer and gas lines. What can you do to have these pipes moved and/or buried so that they not blocking my gate and presenting a tripping and access hazard? Thank you, Martha Nyikos

A large 'Envirosac' filled with waste concrete from a sidewalk repair has been sitting for weeks in the tree plot next to the sidewalk at 535 S. Wash. There is also a lot of gravel and other debris still covering the sidewalk in the repair area. It is a safety hazard, as well as making our neighborhood less attractive.
Traffic Suggestions

Traffic southbound on Jordan is always held up by people waiting for the left turn to go east on Atwater. Countless times I've seen that the light has already cycled to yellow by the time northbound traffic has cleared, and as a result cars have backed up all the way to third st. If the switching equipment allows jordan southbound to get green BEFORE jordan northbound, it will improve intersection throughput tremendously.

Hello,
The stop lights at the intersections of Jordan and Atwater, and the intersection at 3rd and Jordan, are not synced. As a result, people driving to and from campus get hit by both stop lights. They used to be synced up with one another so drivers would make both lights if they were traveling east or if they were traveling west. Now, no matter what, you'll have to stop at one of them.
Also, the green turn arrow light always comes on at the intersection of Jordan and 3rd, even if there is no traffic. This creates weird delays for people trying to leave campus.
I know these complaints of mine are trivial, I'm not sure how much it would take to re-sync the stop lights. But I've worked on campus for years and it was perfect - now this happens and hundreds of people have to stop for 2 separate stop lights 4 or 5 times a day when it used to be zero stops.

For motorists traveling south on Hawthorne, a 'long haired' bush on the north side of First St, just east of Hawthorne, obscures view of cars traveling west on First St. I travel this way each day and have had close calls when surprised by a westbound car as I was turning left on First when I thought it was clear to do so.

In regards to the alley in between Lincoln and Grant, behind the Boys and Girls club.
As you may know, that stretch of Lincoln is closed due to construction. Currently the only way to access The Boys and Girls Club is through the alley. The Club has asked parents to treat it as a one way, following the flow of Lincoln. Though of course not many are abiding and it’s almost caused me an accident last week.
I had a small fender bender in that alley in 2019, he sped through one of the entrances to the alley going towards Grant as I was moving towards 3rd. With heavier traffic through this area for the Club, it’s a creating dangerous mess.
I would at the very least suggest temporary “One Way” signs following the flow of Lincoln St during this construction to prevent any accidents and congestion.
Thank you for your time.
