The city uses facebook to announce news that it does not post on its website e.g. letter of intent with Meridian. I don't have a facebook account. Why is the city of Bloomington (indirectly) subsidizing and promoting Facebook by putting information on Facebook that it does not provide on it public website.
When catalent destroys the woodlands to the south to build their new parking lot, please make sure they leave at least some trees standing. We don't need more acres of unshaded baking asphalt
There is a homeless encampment in the woods across the creek immediately behind my home in a residential neighborhood. A matter of feed away from my property. I have sent a letter/email to Mayor and Dep Mayor with no response. As the leaves fall, I will be staring at the encampment and they will be staring right into my home. I have to regularly call the fire dept due to fires at the encampment. I have to listen to them scream, yell and fight. I am also a licensed rehabber and am terribly upset with the way they have ruined the wildlife territory. The woods behind my home is one of the primary reasons that I bought my home almost 10 years ago. I am worried for my children's safety and well being (as well as my own) as the encampment grows. I am devastated that there is now a potential that part of those woods will be removed due to the encampment. There is also a daycare 3 houses from mine as well as several children who I have seen play around the woods and should be able to without fear of an encampment and being hurt. I will happily provide any needed info, picts I have, etc.

There are people doing drugs and sleeping in the mini barn in back of the empty house. I’m afraid and the police wouldn’t come out because I don’t own the property.
Subject: Concern About Clogged Storm Drains on 1st Street Dear Bloomington Town Official, I am reaching out regarding an ongoing issue with leaves clogging the above-ground grated storm drains along 1st Street, between Henderson and Grant Streets. I previously reported this concern a few weeks ago, but the problem has reappeared due to the continued accumulation of leaves. The situation seems to have worsened following Bloomington's policy change to no longer collect unbagged leaves. As a result, many residents are no longer raking, and the town has become noticeably untidy. These clogged drains pose a significant risk of flooding when it rains, creating potential hazards for our community. I kindly ask for prompt attention to clear these drains and consider ways to address the broader issue of leaf accumulation to maintain the town’s cleanliness and prevent future drainage problems. People are living in the park again. There is a tent like structure blocking the stairs.
At 10:04pm on Monday, June 2, 2025, I observed an older white SUV go from the west bound lane of Country Club into the east bound lane of traffic head on, then back up into the gravel/grassy area on the south side of Country Club and east of the Rail Trail parking lot. There is a gravel road that runs parallel to the Rail Trail there. I also saw headlights from a second vehicle facing north on the gravel road further down to the south, which would have been beyond where the gate is located that should keep vehicles out of that area. These appear to be homeless people. They need to be removed and that area needs to be secured so that no homeless people can drive vehicles back into the woods and live along the road. That part of City Property has already been subject to eviction and cleared out. The homeless need to be removed immediately from anywhere and everywhere along the entire stretch of the Rail Trail from Country Club to Gordon Pike, as well as anywhere along the gravel road running parallel to it. This area needs to be continuously monitored so they do not return.
