An officer Barnes, who I saw at the 4th Street festival told me that she would have coffee with me after I told her that I thought policewomen and men were very special people who are unappreciated and underpaid and we all should cherish them. she instructed me to email the police department. I hope she gets this message.

At least three residents south of campus (elm heights) have described a "scruffy male" (2 noted him on a bike) taking mail and/or UPS packages from their porch. Perhaps some afternoon patrolling would help. One evening attempted break-in also recently described. Thank you.

Hello, I live near the Building Trades Park. For at least the past six weeks, the shelter nearest the playground has been consistently occupied by the same three to six individuals. They are most likely homeless. About three weeks ago, they became violent with our neighbors, and the police were called twice. Two individuals in the group displayed a knife and a metal pole. Arguments seem to keep breaking out. These individuals also frequently have one to two dogs with them, which are not leashed. If other residents wished to use this shelter, they cannot. This group is there from at least 7am (when I leave my house in the mornings) until the park closes around 11pm. I don't feel safe knowing that this group has claim "turf" as if the shelter is their home. I've voiced my concerns with a Park Department Employee who told me that the group is entitled to stay there. This is a public park, not their home. I have lived on Howe Street for the past two years, and this has never been a problem. However, I do not feel safe anymore. Please address this issue. Thank you for your time.

Meters, Today is government holiday so I thought the meters would be off. However I found it wasn't the case. Some meters read "free parking" and some read the regular about and running times. I wanted to check to see if your website mention that the meters were running the webpage cited the holidays and dates the meters were off but today wasn't mentioned. I paid $3.00 just to be safe because I rather pay now than have a $50 tickets. However I feel that the meter should be constant and that you web page give a clear answer. Thank you for your time, Ashley

Failure of bloomington police department to respond to create an incident report of a serious health threat. On Oct. 28 at approximately 12:45 pm I ordered a sandwich from wichwich sandwich store on East Kirkwood ave and ask them to not place bacon on the sandwich because I have mammalian meat allergy, an allergy to all mammal meat that causes anaphylaxis. I went back to work at 517 E. Kirkwood Ave. and began to eat and after a few bites discovered there was bacon on the sandwich. I immediately returned to wichwich and they apologized for the mistake, admitting their error. I called bloomington police to fill out an incident report because anaphylaxis in mammalian meat allergy occurs 5-7 hours after consumption, when I will be at home 12 miles away from a hospital. If I have to go to the emergency room and receive any resultant care or if there is any medical or health damage - LIKE DEATH - due to this error, I wanted a police report that included the statements from the employees that they had heard my request and erred, so as to be able to support any need for costs and damages that will occur. The bloomington police department refused to send an officer to the scene. I learned this after I called the police department back after waiting 40 minutes at the store. The sergeant on duty as shift commander who refused to send a unit to the scene was Rashe. there is no place on this city website to lodge a complaint, only a place to offer compliments.....right....So what a wonderful city; hopefully my child won't be without a father after tonight.

Hello, I am unsure who to contact regard a close call incident with a Crider and Crider dump truck. I only wanted to send in a complaint since we followed the dump truck to the Tri-North Middle School construction site. If the city can do anything about this since Crider and Crider has the contract, I would apricate the help. Here are the details: Location: East Bound on W Vernal Pike, just over Interstate 69, right before the turning lane to N Crescent RD. Date and Time: 6/29/2019 between 7:40am – 8:00am Incident: Crider and Crider dump truck 62 passed my wife and myself extremely close while we were on bicycles. We just crested the hill on W Vernal Pike, no oncoming traffic was coming, the dump truck came within 1 to 2 feet while passing both of us. We ride single file and to the right 1/3 of the road to allow drivers behind us to pass safely. We were able to follow the dump truck to the Tri-North Middle School to gather the truck number, before the truck entered the construction site.
