The bicycle crossing button at Walnut and Allen on the south west corner is missing.
There is a stop sign at the intersection of S Henderson St and E Maxwell Ln that is difficult to see at night. It is the sign seen by traffic heading south on Henderson. It is high - almost in the foliage of a tree - and has either lost its reflectivity or is angled so that it is not effective.
Sorry - it's dark and I can't get a photo but in today's storm a very, very large branch (the size of a small tree) from my neighbor's yard fell and is blocking the alley behind my house. No traffic can move through the alley. There also seems to be a downed wire.
Potholes at this intersection
Potholes and deep cracks on southbound side of High Street between Hillside and Arden. It is critical for bicycle riders to stay to the far right as they ride south because of the blind hill; however, the potholes and cracks at the edge of the lane prevent this. Also please note the large crack/gap in asphalt near the water drain. The entire southbound lane could use resurfacing.
Going north on Old 37 from Gourley Pike, I recently rode down the hill that leads into the Cascades. As this hill is frequently used by cyclists, it is good that it has a new smooth pavement. Cyclists will attain a high speed on this hill and maintain their speed beyond the bottom of the hill. When I did this, I came to a place where I experienced several terrible jolts. I found that there is a place beyond the bottom of the hill where the pavement is very rugged due to a cluster of deep potholes. This road hazard could easily flip a bicycle over. It is easy for a cyclist to unwittingly get caught in this perilous situation. Since many cyclists use this route one can expect what happened to me and worse to happen to many of them. This is of critical importance right now because in a few days, on Sunday October 27, thousands of Hilly Hundred riders will be riding down this hill. It is imperative that this rugged place in the road be repaired.
Pothole at 3rd & Bryan St - northeast corner
The traffic light is completely out, not flashing or anything. and it's a busy intersection.
Additional signs warning of low bridges should be added; although it is amusing to when rental moving truck semiannually hit the low bridges ( https://bloomingtonian.com/2019/10/28/ryder-truck-stuck-on-dunn/) . Currently there are is sign at 12th/Indiana and another half block north of 13th/Indiana. If some is turning south from 13th street on to Indiana then there is no sign with the height. The cost of additional warnings and signs would be offset by avoiding the any time spent having police direct traffic and repairs needed.
Location: 806 S. Stull Ave., Bloomington A car is blocking my driveway AGAIN this morning! The yellow curb paint is wearing off across my driveway so it is difficult at night to see that a car should not park there. Can you please come out and repaint my yellow curb? Thank you so much!
