Excessive Growth
1001 W 11th ST
- Case Date:
- 5/7/2019
The overgrowth at 913 W. 11th St is obscuring the view for drivers turning from Orris Dr to W. 11th Street t the point where a driver has to pull the nose of his/her car all the way out onto 11th St to see if the way is clear. Obviously, this could cause accidents with other cars, school busses going to/from Tri-North, or pedestrians crossing on the sidewalk.

Along 46 Bypass in the eastbound lane before you reach the intersection of 46 and 17th Street, there is a pothole in the asphalt walkway that runs along 46 Bypass. This may belong to the State Highway. Thanks Jill.

Planter in the bottom left corner of the photo contains standing water and is not draining properly. Needs to be emptied and unplugged so that water can drain from the planter.

The intersection of 14th and Indiana is very dangerous. If heading west on 14th street the incline of Indiana in combination with the parked cars along Indiana causes for you to not be able to see if it is safe to cross. I believe that a 4 way stop on the corner of Indiana and 14th is needed. I personally have seen many near accidents as I am a resident of this area and have almost gotten into an accident myself due to not being able to see traffic driving south on Indiana.
Feel free to contact me about more information. As a student, I do not want to see other students become injured due to blocked line of view.

Turning left from 11th street to North Walnut. In order to see the south to north traffic on North Walnut it is necessary to edge out into North Walnut in order to see traffic. Cars that are turning left can usually get around your car if you are turning left, however, today a city bus was turning left, there was a car behind me, so I couldn't back up, I tried to move to the right but that didn't work but finally I did back up so he was able to get around me.
Therefore, something needs to be done to improve the visibility of the traffic at that corner.

When turning out of E. Wilson St. onto S. Woodlawn Ave., it's nearly impossible to see oncoming traffic from the north because of a large yew bush close to the street. The bush is in the southeast corner of the lawn at the second house north of the intersection. It was difficult to see when the bush was small and has only gotten worse.
