Adams bridge apparently seems to be getting hit by too big trucks regularly. Having spoken to folks near by, it seems like while there are markings available, they are not sufficent to prevent accidents. Could folks look into improving the marking in the area?
Hello, would it be possible to make the intersection of North Dr and Henderson St (and Summitview Place) a four-way stop? It's currently a two-way with Henderson traffic not stopping, and at multiple points during the day with the bus stop right at that corner cars will wait easily up to five minutes just to have enough of a break in traffic to cross (or even turn in some cases). Also, heading across on North, with the school's baseball field right at that corner and the black material put up on the fence now, it's practically a blind corner unless you creep up to the point that you're in the intersection. Going back to the bus stop, I also think it'd be much safer for pedestrians as there are many who walk their dogs around both the apartment complex (Summit Pointe) and the school's sidewalks. The lights at intersections need re programmed so that a green light happens in sequence. The cars can’t progress because the light stays red for 10 seconds while the eastern intersections light is burning green. The cars can’t travel anywhere. Very frustrating!
At the intersection of 6th and Rogers, cars regularly block the entrance/exit to the Near West Side neighborhood when they move from the 4-way stop at 7th and Rogers to the intersection of Kirkwood and Rogers. I would suggest marking the 6th and Rogers intersection with a "Don't Block the Box" pavement marking. Something needs to be done to stop vehicles in both directions from blocking the intersection of 6th and Rogers.
I just moved to 2nd and Swain. The corner needs a stop sign for all ways, not just for traffic on Swain. Most of the intersections along 2nd have 4-way stops; this intersection is the exception for some reason. Drivers go way faster than the 25mph allowed; the area is quite congested with students moving back into the area.
Tapp Road And Rockport Road needs to have a signal light . It is overwhelmed as a 4 way stop sighn and creates a huge backup during busy times. Tapp road will need to be a 4 lane hwy soon.
Large semi trucks turn off Rogers onto W. 4th. When they get to the cemetery, they can't turn right onto Elm nor go into the cemetery to turn around. There is a sign at the entrance to the cemetery that says no large trucks. It would be helpful if there we a sign at Rogers and 4th. My tree branches are often knocked off and I fear that my car or someone else's will get hit as these large trucks back down the street to where they can turn. Thank you. Gracia Valliant
There are no speed limit signs on the part of Jordan ave that goes through campus (i contacted IUPD about this and they told me because it was a city street to contact the city). IUPD also told me the speed limit on that part of Jordan is currently 30mph; with the new work done last year, there are now five pedestrian crosswalks not at intersections on this section of the road, so that speed is probably too high, particularly with the hill and curve in the road near the Musical Arts Center.
In the alley adjacent to Bloomington Center for Global Children at 1111 North Walnut Street, traffic often travels both ways. As a parent who picks up a young child there, I am keenly aware of the danger presented by a two way alley adjacent to a child care center. I am requesting that this alley be made one way with traffic control as well, as the traffic traveling north on Walnut street presents another danger to those individuals turning west into the alley next to the center.
Hello. I am the property manager for Tamarron HOA. There is a cross walk to Univeristy Elementary School from Tamarron. We are having issues with speeding vehicles and children crossing the street. At the HOA board meeting tonight it was suggested putting a three way stop sign at the intersection of Callery Drive and Tamarron Drive to at least slow the traffic down. Who do we contact about this? One Board member brought up if there is a stop sign on the north end of Callery Drive and Tamarron Drive, it will re-route cars down the south side of Tamarron so maybe installing two stop signs at each end of Callery Drive and Tamarron Drive.
