Topic: West 16th, Hancock Dr., and West 15th section through/beside Crestmont Park. This is a beautiful, and I believe under-appreciated stretch of street. Quiet, park setting with trees. However, there is one problem - the road is extremely narrow. Too narrow. If a car is coming one way and encounters a car coming the other way, one has to stop and pull half-way off the road for the other to get by. This is particularly problematic because the blacktop drops off several inches right at the edge and the soil at the edge is often washed out in certain areas. Another issue is that some drivers drive entirely too fast through here and then cut the corner at the bottom of the hill too tightly - this has practically run me off the road in the past. I don't wish to suggest that this section of street be widened. That would ruin its park-like atmosphere. What I would like to suggest is this: Starting at Lindbergh, W. 15th, Hancock, and W. 16th up to Monroe St be made one-way westbound. Then, the section of Lindbergh between W. 15th and W. 17th be switched to one-way northbound once 17th is reopened. I don't think that much traffic normally comes up Lindbergh where it would create that much more traffic on W.16th, etc. Perhaps put down counters to check, but it would cut out the traffic from one way and make the road more safe. Even if none of this is pursued, one thing that is definitely needed are "SLOW" signs and "PARK" signs. There may be a sign marking that there is a ninety-degree curve does in the bottom, but if not, there needs to be one of those too. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Request for Traffic Calming Devices in Walnut Springs/Grove Neighborhood. Burks Drive between S. Walnut Street and S. Walnut Street Pike is a residential neighborhood that has a high volume of automobile traffic cutting through at high speeds (40+ mph). This creates a hazard for residents in the area that may be pulling out of their driveways, walking (especially the elderly people in the neighborhood), and children playing. Traffic calming devices, such as speed bumps, would cut down on traffic volume and speeds, which would create a safe environment for all.

When traveling W. on Kirkwood and coming to the light at Adams, there are 2 left turn lanes but no good markings to guide cars to their respective lanes on Adams. We were almost hit by a car next to us that drifted into our lane as we turned. You need to put some nice wide solid white arcs to prevent an accident there.

Traffic southbound on Jordan is always held up by people waiting for the left turn to go east on Atwater. Countless times I've seen that the light has already cycled to yellow by the time northbound traffic has cleared, and as a result cars have backed up all the way to third st. If the switching equipment allows jordan southbound to get green BEFORE jordan northbound, it will improve intersection throughput tremendously.

To Whom it May Concern, I am an IU Student living in Jackson Heights. I choose to take the bus 2-3 times a day to get to my classes, in an effort to be environmentally conscious. The nearest bus stop is on 17th street past the gas station. There isn't any crosswalk/crosswalk lights on any side of the corner I have indicated. This puts myself, as well as any other pedestrian, at risk of being seriously injured. I've been in Bloomington since August and have, thankfully, avoided getting into any incident. However, I have just heard from my roommate, that she almost got hit by a car, as the driver wasn't paying attention and it's tricky for a pedestrian to decide when to cross when there aren't any indications to do so. I am really hoping a solution can be reached. I'd also appreciate any feedback on any way I can assist to help avoid a tragic situation. Thank you for your time, Yasmine El-Gohary

Can the City not require the Indiana Railroad to install some type of flashing light, larger warning sign or something to help prevent this from happening? There has been an increasing amount of trucks hitting this bridge, at least 6 in the past year that I'm aware of.

7th and Dunn and 7th and Indiana have become absolutely terrifying since the bike lanes were installed. The main issue is on 7th and Dunn St: without a four way stop, it is very dangerous to travel on Dunn St. people do not check for bikes/scooters in their right-away lane, which leads to countless near accidents. I live on Dunn, and it often takes nearly 5 minutes to get out of this intersection, due to the heavy traffic which comes from the Indiana and 7th intersection. I have witnessed major accidents at both of these intersections. At 7th and Indiana, the stop line (on 7th) is so far back that cars on Indiana street cannot see the stopped cars on 7th until they themselves are stopped. This leads to confusion/road rage from the cars on Indiana when they think those traveling on 7th didn’t come to a complete stop. 4 way stop sign should be reinstated on 7th and Dunn Intersection, and something needs to be done to improve vision on 7th and Indiana.

Starting the 7th Street Bikeway project is great. I hope we have lots of low-traffic thoroughfares in twon some day. But finish what you started on Allen Street. There is no signs, no flashing beacons, no paint. Nothing that designates the street a low and slow traffic area. Cars drive way faster now with the "improvements" then they did with the hodgepodge pilot. Put some signs up. Paint the street. Put some flashers at the Washington St intersection and the Henderson St intersection. Allen is not finished.

Three weeks ago, I was riding my bike west on 7th St in the bicycle lane as a car entered from Indiana Ave into the bike lane. I had to stop my bike and lift it over the curb to get around the car that was impeding both lanes of the bike lane. This is not my first experience with cars in the 7th St bike lane. Please install a post or bollard at the protected bicycle lane entrances to discourage cars from entering it. This is a simple, easy to install, and low cost solution. I don't understand why it wasn't installed in the first place.
