Dayton Freight driver noted multiple individuals smoking cigarettes and one smoking a marijuana vape while waiting to be unloaded. Driver stated male 6'0 white beard and hair, skinny, late 40s. Driver has told Carlilse management who is looking into it as of a year ago with no resolution. Have seen others smoking while delivering or picking up
To whom it may concern, The following describes multiple code violations from Chandler Automotive that I noticed/experienced during the process of retrieving my towed car from their site. I have video/audio evidence of the violations, and I would prefer if someone reached out to me so I can submit these as proof. It will only allow me to upload images through this submission form. Thank you: BMC 4.32.140(b): Called the number at around 5:30pm to ask to retrieve car, employee stated that she will not be able to get my car until about 9:30/10pm. This is in violation of part 1 of section B, as well as violation of part 2 of section B, since this was well outside the sixty minutes. I recorded the phone call where the employee told me 10pm. Please reach out if you would like this evidence. BMC 4.32.140(f): The invoice, see attached, is not itemized correctly pursuant to the requirements of I.C. 24-14-5-1. The invoice is missing/incorrectly accounted for the following: - I.C. 24-14-5-1(4)(D) - No VIN number. - I.C. 24-14-5-1(4)(C) - No year. - I.C. 24-14-5-1(5) - License plate # is incorrect. - I.C. 24-14-5-1(C) - No explanation is given for the additional charges incurred, which is required here. BMC 4.32.130(a)(2) - The company attempted to charge me $185 for the tow. One $25 charge being a go jack fee, and the other being a dollies fee. Since a go jack fee is a special fee, the total for those should not be $50 according to the code, but a maximum of $25. They corrected this upon me providing them a copy of the code. However, I have audio recording of them attempting to charge me that amount, and being unable to explain these additional charges. BMC 4.32.120(a) - As stated above, the towing company failed to comply with applicable state law in the invoice. BMC 4.32.120(e) - The vehicle was not able to be claimed upon calling at 5:30pm on 4/18/2024. Please reach out for a copy of the evidence as I am not able to upload it here. These laws were created by the legislature with the intention to be construed strictly due to the stated purpose of this chapter being to protect the public from unconscionable practices (BMC 4.32.010). During this past weekend's storms, a tree on city owned property fell and damaged our fence. The tree also damaged an adjoining fence on coty owned property. We have taken pictures, moved the tree and crudely sealed the fences well enough to keep the dog in the yard. What are our next steps?
This picture was taken on 10/10 at 12:24 AM at the corner of Kirkwood/Dunn. The truck is called, "Smoked," and I do not see them as a registered truck on the list. I talked, "Ken," who said he and his wife own the truck and showed me a valid handicapped permit. I didn't get Ken's contact info or license plate.
My vehicle was damaged by a water main burst around 2 am this morning and I'm not sure who i need to make a damage claim to. My windshield was broken as well as multiple scratches to the paint. I do have video of the water main spraying my vehicle and photos of the damage made from it. I thank you for your time and appreciate your feedback
1508 W. 11th is going to be sold in a Sheriff Sale on Oct 18th. Contractors for the lawyer/bank who repossessed the property due to the death of the owner have already cleaned out the house and have been keeping the property mowed. However, because the house is vacant, the neighbors to the east (1506), have been stacking/throwing trash, debris, etc. into the house. It is just packed with it. This is absolutely unfair to any potential buyer of 1508 as they will have to pay for the removal of this garbage once they purchase the property. 1506 needs to dispose of their own damn trash.
A tenant of this building reported there is a transient in one of the restrooms on the 6th floor. Caller said he thinks the person is smoking.
Call received to HAND from adjacent property owner. There is also a uReport under address 812 W 3rd that is duplicative. People are living year-round in an RV parked on an unimproved surface at 220 S. Maple Street. They have been there for about 18 months. I previously reported them to H.AN.D. and the city's legal department. There are also 3-5 other cars parked in the small property lot at all times. The man is apparently fixing cars for others. Various articles and garbage bags are often strewn about. Their has been many domestic violence and nuisance reports to the police and fire department during this time.
Every time there is a football game at Memorial Stadium, they set off fireworks or cannons or something. Sometimes, like last night, they set them off after 10 and it seems like I've heard them even later than that. Does IU request an exemption to the noise ordinance? If so, why is it granted? Me and my sleepy infant son would like to know. Thanks.
Incident Report – Improper Towing of Vehicle Date of Tow: February 25, 2024 Location: 429 S Walnut St, Bloomington, IN Incident Description On February 25, 2024, my vehicle was towed from 429 S Walnut St, Bloomington, IN, without my consent. The towing company did not obtain my explicit authorization before removing my vehicle, making this a non-consensual tow in potential violation of Bloomington Municipal Code Chapter 4.32 (Non-Consensual Towing Businesses). At the time of the tow, my vehicle was properly registered with the apartment complex’s parking system. My license plate was on file as having a valid parking permit, but I had not been issued a physical parking sticker by management, which was outside of my control. Despite my valid registration, my vehicle was still towed, suggesting improper enforcement of parking regulations. Additionally, maintenance personnel were occupying my assigned parking spot the last time I drove. This forced me to park elsewhere in the lot, which may have contributed to the towing error. Signage Review The posted signage did include the following legal requirements: A clear statement that unauthorized vehicles would be towed. The name and contact information of the towing company. Information on where towed vehicles could be retrieved. A schedule of towing and storage fees. However, the signage also stated that parking was reserved for residents of Kirkwood Management, which I was not at the time, even though my vehicle was registered with the complex and I had been assigned a parking spot. Violation of Ordinances Lack of Consent (BMC § 4.32.100(a)) The tow was conducted without my authorization. Bloomington Municipal Code 4.32.100(a) states that it is unlawful to tow a vehicle from a parking lot unless the parking lot owner or an authorized agent, present at the time of the tow, signs a written authorization for that specific vehicle. If this requirement was not met, the tow was unlawful. Valid Parking Permit Not Honored My vehicle was registered with the complex’s parking system, but I had not received a sticker from management. Since my plate was on file as having a valid permit, my vehicle should not have been subject to towing. This indicates an error in enforcement, either by the property management or the towing company, leading to an unjustified tow. Claim & Request for Action Given that my vehicle was towed despite being properly registered and that the signage at the location failed to recognize my valid permit, I formally request the following: A full refund of all towing and storage fees incurred. Confirmation that my valid parking permit is properly recognized moving forward to prevent future incidents.
