Along with many others of tonight’s council meeting, the new council and administration need to consider the public feel toward the showers west expansion - we don’t want police presence at our city hall and farmers market and showers plaza or by the tech park. This idea that you will progressively change the police by combining certain positions with CFRD in showers is very optimistic but comes at a greater cost. Inclusivity, equity, and reality of the community’s pulse should be accounted for in such large impact decisions for current and future development. As discussed, real estate is an asset - don’t sell the 3rd street station, do buy showers west for city hall expansion, but the plans for BPD need reimagined. CBU is also not being included in this ‘all administration needs to be under one roof’ idea and they aren’t included as eligible for certain benefits either. This addition of weapons, ultimate safety threat to regular staff members, and overall change in feel should simply not happen for a move literally next door to city hall. Staff have not been included in any discussions - has a survey or other metric been obtained about 100+ employees feelings about police presence moving to their day to day workplace? How about the tech park that received a special zoning overlay? Inequities already exist in city hall regarding pay, benefits, etc (the data is public). Now you want to move the group next door that has higher wages, gets rent/house payment assistance to live in city limits, some with take home cars, and has better negotiation ability for wages and benefits? This is an interesting move that doesn’t consider your core staff that run the city day to day -and in case one hasn’t noticed, they’ve been leaving like a revolving door for better pay, benefits, and work hours. This was highlighted tonight regarding the mayors office - not just for administration change turnover. Based on budget presentation information discussed in October of most years, most staff do not live in the city and need to commute in - while that is likely due to inability to purchase or rent in city limits, this is never discussed by administration and HR as wage increases would be needed to resolve this problem. Please pass this information onto incoming administration and council. Discussion with non union staff is not occurring and they’re not being taken into account or even given a seat at the table. Typically even council only focuses on police and fire, likely because they have unions and feel they can more freely advocate for themselves. Please consider other perspectives of many individuals you might impact and how to move forward in these decisions. Thanks for your consideration in this matter.

I am emailing to request a target date we will be required to vacate our space. Warrant Technologies currently resides in the Showers Building at 320 W. 8th St, Suite 207 Bloomington, IN 47404. We have been verbally notified by three different city representatives, one of which was the deputy mayor, that will be required to move out prior to end of our lease. We have inquired each time – When will we be required to move? No response has been provided to date. This is having a detrimental impact to our ability to support our customers. We cannot plan for / execute upgrades needed to include facility security measures, classified holding capability, expanded connectivity to include classified connection, cooling, alarms, and additional access control. Warrant needs an answer to the following questions; • Will we be required to move out? • If yes, when will we be required to move? • If no, will we be able to exercise our lease option years? Sewer Problems (Sanitary Sewers)

Grandview Hills Neighborhood Association report for sewerage on 3617 Post Rd. This report is on behalf of our neighborhood. I have been in contact with Shian'ah Cox at the Health Department regarding a sewer leak on Dec 18, 2023. She came out to take a test. She let me know that the she needed assistance from the Water Utilities to give her access or for them to take the test themselves. As of yesterday Feb 13, 2024 she let me know that she still has not heard back from Water Utilities on steps taken, testing, or results. Our neighbor, Bruce Johnson looked back through his emails and notes to offer other timelines to help give some background on what he has been noticing and who he has contacted. "I contacted Alex Gray with the City on 9/25/23 and alerted her to the problem on Post Road. I called her again on 12/5/23. She told me that she remembered the issue and had taken photos of it on her first visit. My notes show that I first identified the leak in April when I noticed liquid around the flower pot (fiber optic access). The problem was caused by the original fibre optic contractors who were first on site in November of 2022. I have been in contact with ALL of the AEG sub-contractors when they started working in our area again in November of this year. I have contacted Hoosier Fiber networks field supervisor Luis Medina on at least 3 occasions by calling him on his cell phone. In addition I have spoken with Russell Lo (AEG supervisor for the work in our area) 2 or more times about this issue. All of the conduit in our neighborhood that was installed in 2022 was abandoned (left in the ground) and all new conduit was pulled in. None of the subs wanted to repair the problem as they did not cause it. Russell Lo told me some weeks ago that "it was repaired". Indeed the flower pot was reset when the new conduit was installed--but it rapidly filled up with effluent. I understand that you have contacted the City Health Department and that they will test the liquid for fecal bacteria. I have attached photos of the liquid in the flower pot plus the site that I took today. In addition I took a photo of the abandoned conduit on Post Road to the East of 3617 near the intersection of Meadowlark. The liquid drains into that abandoned conduit and it has been full for over a year. The street is platted for a width of 40 feet and the flower pot HAS to be on City property. I have personally witnessed liquid bubbling up and out of the flower pot. I believe that the residence is using a pump to get the waste water up to the sewer. Animal Control & Neglected Pets

Our office received concerns and some complaints related to excess crow activity and droppings along third street, and near/on Pi Beta Phi's property. Does the city provide any services to deter or move crow roosting sites away from residential buildings? We have been working with the chapter house on ideas and they have been power washing droppings but the issue reemerges. Thank you for any insight into potential remedies.

I filled out an online application, everything is filled out, but when I try to submit it the application will not forward and a box says fill out all required fields. But, the box or program does not identify the missing field that is not filled out. It is for the possition of Operations Office Coordinator. Please, write back and show me the field that is not filled out and fix the program so it shows applicants where information is missing

Re: 1709 E Circle Drive. Maybe it is time to remember the tenants that the broken office chair that they first had in front of their house for weeks, but then moved towards the neighbor house at 1805 Southdowns, will not magically disappear unless they call the Sanitation Department for an extra trash pickup.
