Alley here at Atwater and Eagleson complaint. Debbie Rosenberger - 317-507-4050 called on this alley and spoke with Angela VanRooy. She would like a call back on options to get this fixed.
The alley behind the Boys & Grils Clubs, between Lincoln and Grant is absolutely awful with deep potholes and broken pavement. While some of this damage is part of the 53-08-04-203-024.000-009 lot owned by Shivam Properties LLC, there is significant damaged pavement owned by the City of Bloomington. I have had the misfortune of traveling down this alley twice in recent months, and each time I was concerned I was going to pop a tire.
Currently, the city only has one method for filing noise complaints, which is to call the number listed on the city's website. Having only one reporting method is extremely ineffective, and limiting the reporting method to only verbal communication creates a barrier for accessibility. There are individuals who cannot communicate over the phone - like me. Illness stole my voice years ago, but my hearing was not impacted - I still hear the noise. I just can't report it. Not sure what an adequate fix would be, as it would have to be something that is regularly monitored. At the S Highland / E 2nd St 4 way intersection I have within one week noticed four vehicles that have not obeyd the STOP signs on E 2nd street going east and west. Maybe the big tree in the north east corner needs to be trimmed a little? Or put up a pre warning sign of an upcoming four way STOP?
This truck has been parked in front of the church for several months and has not moved.
Homeowners are storing trash and recycling containers on sidewalk
I don’t know why there aren’t stop signs at either end of second st. The right of way is confusing since if you didn’t think of it as one continuous street, an accident could easily happen. For example, even as a pedestrian I’ve almost been hit just from crossing and not seeing the car come from around the corner of the other side of second street. I think this is a rather dangerous intersection and there’s no reason to not have a couple more stop signs on the ends of second street.
Curb in front of our house is broken and needs repair. I am disabled and in its current condition the curb is a real hazard. Thank you for your attention! Michael Loyal
