The large maple tree at the front of Fire Station #3 was struck by lightning about a year ago, the tree is showing signs of degeneration, and there are Large limbs that hang down over the apron of the fire station that protrude into the driving path of our emergency apparatus. I have asked for the tree to be removed, however the tree has some large deadfall limbs hanging over the sidewalk (Fall Hazard to pedestrians) and about 6-7 limbs that need to be removed to render it safe. This is a huge safety issue and needs to be addressed. The limb that hangs over the apron needs to be removed to allow apparatus to safely enter and exit the bay of Fire Station #3.

I live at 2206 S Rockport Road in Bloomington. Our mailbox post is on the sidewalk, and needs to be replaced. I plan to hire a contractor to install a new post, which may require digging into the sidewalk to remove the old post and install the new one. Of course the contractor will do a proper patching job on the sidewalk. Do I need any special permission to proceed with this project? Many thanks.

I walk through Switchyard Park on a regular basis, generally between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. I notice that the restrooms at Switchyard Park open at 10:00 a.m.; I urge you to consider opening them at 8:00 a.m. The park gets quite a lot of use, as early as 7:30 a.m., by joggers, bikers, skateboarders, pickle ball players, etc. Personally my wife and I have needed the restroom on several occasions before 10:00 a.m. Recently I saw a gentleman who appeared rather frustrated that the restrooms weren't open at 8:30 a.m. Please consider an earlier opening time. Traffic on East Wylie St very fast, potential hazards, while a lot of kids are living (and playing) in this street. Need for better signalization, lower speed limit, speed cushions or bump-outs to reduce motor vehicle speeds (inspired by the East Allen Street Greenway project?)

Water fountains at southeast park still have yet to be turned on. Will they be turned back on at any point? The fountain by the tennis courts was used heavily by many runners who no longer have access to water on their routes.
