Water Quality

Bloomington City Hall, 401 N Morton St, Bloomington, IN 47401, USA

Case Date:
4/5/2022

I had already let the water flow, so it wasn't producing the black debris anymore, but you can see the residue on the side of this plastic container. We have had this problem periodically since we moved here two years ago.

Potholes, Other Street Repair

2006 S Sussex DR

Case Date:
4/5/2022

The entire length of Sussex Drive, on both sides, is filled with spots where the edge of the roadway is crumbling into the gutter. We don't have sidewalks on this road, and a lot of people end up walking along the edge of the road. The loose and crumbling asphalt is a real tripping hazard. I started an attempt to clean up the loose asphalt, but I have no where to dispose of this. I'd like to request that the loose asphalt be cleaned up, and the edges of the road patched up. To reiterate, the entire length of Sussex is in great need of attention. Thank you!

Parks & Playgrounds

2851 Old State Rd 37, Bloomington, IN 47404, USA

Case Date:

How did this amount of yard waste get into our lovely lower Cascades park? This area was noticed Sat afternoon during our 1st Sat of the Month weed wrangle event at Lower Cascades hosted by City Parks and MC-IRIS. A number of volunteers and City Park staff have been meeting at lower Cascades for over a year with Thurs afternoon weed wrangles then more recently Sat has been added for two events in this park per week. This was the first time that we have discovered this area and I can’t understand how, when by whom and why this destroyed native habitat area had occurred and who may have first reported this form of vandalism. What can be determined and more importantly how and when can this debris be hauled away to hasten the recovery of this previously native wooded park area? I had issues trying to attach a photo or video but, I can share those or offer to help you onsite.

Trash

2618 S Flat Rock RD

Case Date:
4/7/2022

This is now the 4th time that we have had our trash/recycling picked up and components that were securely inside of the bins to be picked up/dumped into the truck have ended up next to or outside of the bins after the garbage man or women dumps it in their truck. Today there were two full bags of trash and pieces of recycling left next to the bin (that were inside the bin at the bottom of the trash can). We don’t have space from week to week to be not dumping the bins fully and it leaves a mess as well. Please, if there is any way to address this issue and make sure this doesn’t happen again that would be greatly appreciated.

Debris Removal (Sand, General Street Debris)

exit 120A area

Case Date:
4/7/2022

We are new to Bloomington and just starting to learn our way around etc. We have noticed a mattress dumped over a hillside just off the I69 Exit 120A. It is in the rocks on the right hand side as you enter 46/45 route. Is this city property or state? It looks like a double or queen size mattress. Is this something that the city could get disposed of or it on state property can you please direct me to proper people at the state for disposal. Thank you
