Dear Mayor Hamilton, Thank you for your op-ed piece, “Pistols in the Pool, Machine Guns on Parade and Nothing We Can Do,” published in the NY Times. You message was clear, passionate, and eloquent while posing the crucial question of how to keep our town safe and clarifying how we’ve arrived at these untenable circumstances. Your timing for pointing out Republican Vice President nominee Mike Pence as the source of this situation in particular is appreciated. My husband and I are so glad your message was given this platform. As parents of a son in law enforcement, we were also glad you addressed how hazardous the lack of gun restrictions in Indiana is for police officers. Thank you for taking this stand. I took my dog to Fergerson Dog park yesterday and we both had so much fun. Thanks for creating and maintaining this space. I live on the south side (Broadview) and I can't wait for Switchyard park's dog area!
