Caller has tried to reach someone at animal shelter for 3 days. Is disgusted with phone system that won't allow him to talk to anyone. (I asked if he left a message--he had not.) He found an animal which he asked shelter to pick up and now he wants to adopt animal but can't reach shelter.) He also feels personnel are rude to him. He did not give name or number but number showing on display was 334-2515 (Bob Evans Restaurant.)
Why won't city pick up leaves in Longview mobile home park? There are many older people there who need the service. Ms. Jackson plans to go to the media re this situation.
Objects to spending $250,000 on farmers market shelter when it will be used by people from out of the county. His taxes have gone up the last two years and he is on a fixed income. As a taxpayer, he is disappointed with this "runaway" taxation.
Farmers Market was fine for years. Ms. Jackson against spending large amount of money for new shelter--was waste of taxpayers' money. She is taxed to death and yet the City won't pick up her leaves. This is simply mismanagement.
Re: skating lessons @ FSC. In the new brochure it indicates that skating lessons are 30 minutes long, however, the actual times run 25 minutes. She would really like it if it were actually a 30 minute lesson like last year OR to have the information more consistent.
Ms. Robertson complained of overwhelming reluctance and poor response by the animal control officer she spoke with. She called the animal shelter after a Mastiff dog tried to attack her. The man she spoke with said he would rather not come and help her since there wasn't anything he could do if she hadn't already been attacked by the dog and instead suggested she use a broom to fend off the dog.
Ms. Bates watched the leaf removal crew and was upset by the fact that it took 7 or 8 people to run 2 or 3 trucks. The collection process was not efficient at all. Too many employees were standing around and no work was being done.
