Winslow park has had overflowing trash for months. In addition at least 2 of the announcer booths on the baseball fields appear to have been broken into. Please address these issues. I walk there multiple times a week and it is an eyesore that city employees pass by often.

The batting cages at Winslow are still not up, even though rec league practices have already started. That means teams and players cannot do batting practice. The same thing happened last year, when the cages were not ready until late April. Hopefully they can be up by this week. If help is needed, I know parents and coaches are ready and willing to assist. Unfortunately, the condition of the fields and facilities creates a negative cycle: the facilities are not properly maintained, people get frustrated and stop signing up, and then Bloomington sees low turnout and does not prioritize investing in improvements. Then the cycle repeats. If the fields and facilities were ready to go, properly maintained, and given a few needed upgrades, I believe rec league participation would increase. Winslow could also become a stronger location for hosting successful baseball and softball tournaments.
