Animal Control & Neglected Pets

407 E Smith AVE

Case Date:
3/15/2026

We have had 8 bats in our house by now since the start of the year. 6 of them have been this semester alone. We are getting bats flying around inside our house weekly. We are renting through Chickering rentals and they have yet to solve the problem and it’s becoming a health hazard. We don’t know what to do at this point but we would like to get this reported to the city.

Business

1316 S Palmer AVE

Case Date:
3/16/2026

There is a full fledged business in operation at 1316 S. Palmer. There are multiple vehicles parked (usually white trucks, vans) and workers are working on them. The city is consistently ignoring this. The neighborhood is now considering the possibility of bribes or other forms of influence that is allowing this business. The neighborhood is also considering starting street business only to gain media attention. This summer we will engage this issue until resolved. If not resolved we will identify the city employees or elected officials who are accepting bribes from this business in order to continue.
