Why for having such a vibrant and significant LGBT community does the City have basically no local recognition and programming? The City does a great job at promoting the Latino, black, women, children, and many other communities and groups. But as far as I know we have no LGBT affairs commission, no awards recognition, etc. Maybe I'm wrong? But none of my friends know either. It's more than about not being discriminated against, it's about celebrating a unique and important part of local culture. Thank you. Hope to see this changed. I know the mayor is a personal ally but how about showing it in office. There are so many things that can be done to do better on this front.

In the Spring someone from my office could never find someone in the Morton parking garage so that she could buy the $40 parking pass. Now i am having difficulty contacting someone during business hours for the same reason. I have left 2 messages and continue to try and no one answers the phone. Who else can i call or email? My phone calls have gone unanswered. thank you, Britt Rust

A copy of an email I just sent - CITY OF BLOOMINGTON LEGAL DEPARTMENT: I just picked up two DVDs from the Legal Department of the City of Bloomington today, and I specifically asked WHAT computer program will play them. The woman who took my payment asked someone else in the office while I was down the hall paying the fee and she told me, "The program that plays it is already loaded on it." NO IT ISN'T!! I'm at the main library trying to get both of these DVDs to play, and NEITHER OF THEM WILL. Why are you withholding the correct information from me? How come when a citizen comes to get EVIDENCE of wrongdoing by other citizens or by public employees she is given DVDS that can't easily be played, viewed and listened to on a common public computer? This happened with the VERY FIRST DVDs I got from you two years ago, even before I got the Protective Order against Georg Smith. I couldn't play those DVDs either. One guy at the library had a laptop that HAPPENED to have that computer program on it, and I saw one video but never heard it. I haven't been able to view it since. SO I'M ASKING YOU AGAIN - WHAT EXACT PROGRAM PLAYS THESE THINGS - AND WHAT COMPUTERS IN TOWN HAVE THAT PROGRAM LOADED? IF YOU CAN'T FIND ANY OTHER COMPUTERS WITH THESE PROGRAMS, THEN I'LL HAVE TO SCHEDULE TIME TO COME INTO YOUR OFFICE TO USE YOUR COMPUTERS. I HAVE TO SEE THIS IMMEDIATELY TO PREPARE FOR A COURT HEARING. These videos are EVIDENCE in several legal cases. Not giving me clear answers and this information can only be concluded to be obstruction of justice. In the meantime, I'm going to alert the judge in one of my cases that I'm not getting cooperation and playable videos from the CIty of Bloomington. It's the truth. Please reply today and tell my how you're going to fix this problem. I need to view literally 15 videos of Georg Smith violating the Protective Order, and about 4 more of other idiots in this town who've committed BATTERY against me, who can't drive a bus safely, and who've failed to keep the roads safe, causing me injury. If you don't get me the right answers your city is going to be famous for making this problem for people. I guess I'll have to propose a law to the City Council that any and all public records have to be provided in an EASILY VIEWABLE FORMAT. After all, when you get Police Reports from the Police Department, they print them in English on standard 8 1/2 by 11 inch paper. They don't encrypt it in some obscure code. Why would you want to make it difficult for anybody? I've already been through enough abuse in this town - why do you want to add to it? You cause me MORE suffering THAT I DON'T NEED. Please get me my information TODAY. And if you don't like the idea of my using YOUR computers... I HAVE TO VIEW MY DVDS FOR COURT, so you may have to make some adjustments. I've repeatedly asked for this information over the months, and I'm out of patience.

Dear Mayor Hamilton and the city of Bloomington, I am contacting you and your office regarding the problem with the deer in our neighborhood. Once again, the deer are a problem for us and they are outright dangerous. I am not sure what the city is planning on doing with the problem, but I almost feel like I want to hire a sniper (and I am an animal lover) to get them off of our property or now purchase a BB gun. I am not a violent person, but I am at my wits end regarding this issue. Will the city only do something once a deer kills a child? I have heard of stories of dogs being killed by deer as well as homes being trashed by deer who have somehow gotten into somebody's home. The latest is that my wife got a broken ankle because of a deer and it required a trip to the ER at Bloomington hospital along with missed work for both of us. Luckily we have health insurance, but for those who don't...it is a very expensive endeavor that could have been avoided if the city would do something to cull these animals. Lately we have seen a herd of 8 deer roaming around Somax. I would like your opinion on how you plan to fix this problem because I do see this as a problem in our city and especially our neighborhood. Also, I heard that the city has a 2 million dollar surplus this year and wondered if that meant we would finally get the sidewalk and repair of the dangerous culvert that has been promised to the former owners of our house as well as to us. Our taxes go up every year (Judy Sharp just assessed another increas of $50,000 to our home value which raised our taxes again quite drastically). We can't seem to ever get a break from her with her assessments every year and it is quite frustrating. Every year we pay more and more taxes and get absolutely nothing for it. Again, I would appreciate your thoughts on this matter. Thanks. Best, Ingrid Faber 1104 S. Covenanter Drive Bloomington, IN 47401

requesting feedback: Today is Monday Jan. 15,2018 and I cannot complete some of my personal errands due to weather conditions on the streets and sidewalks.First, my mail has been delayed since Saturday from the incoming snow storm. I noticed the sidewalks were not shoveled and some places were not salted nor were some of the streets were not plowed either. I am just bringing some of the few things to this office's attention because this delays all my daily personal errands like paying bills, etc. I look forward to hearing a positive feedback from this office. It is unfortunate that city employees cannot fulfill snow-plowing jobs when there are plenty of "homeless citizens" looking for work/employment that would have look forward to plowing the streets of Bloomington,Indiana. Thank you and my name is Carmelita Plains Bull and my mailing address is P.O. Box 95,Bloomington,Indiana 47402.

Mr. Shields called to complain about missed trash and recycling pick ups, but also described calling the sanitation office and dealing with a "rude" employee when discussing these issues.

This morning, while driving to work at Cook Pharmica, I was going a different way than normal. I was on 3rd St instead of 2nd St, and needed to get over to turn onto Patterson abruptly because I wasn't too familiar with the area. A city employee driving a city truck not only didn't acknowledge my turn signal, he sped up. He proceeded to try and "race" me, and when I was finally able to get in front of him because I couldn't get behind him due to other vehicles, he proceeded to turn his bright lights on to distract me. Naturally, I sped up. The city employee sped up with me and began to tail me, all the way to Cook. I pulled over into the Cook lot and attempted to get a license plate, but he sped away. All I could get was what I believe the last 2 digits to be, 50. I want you to understand, as a city employee, this person represents not only the city, but the city government as well. This was a HORRIBLE display of unprofessional and inappropriate behavior. I do not know that side of the city well, and for all this guy knew, I could have been from out of town. And that's the impression an out-of-towner would have of city government. Next time this happens, I will not only take a video of it, I will post it on every social media website and news outlet available. Fire immature people who act like this because they should NOT be working in government. Thanks and have a nice day.

There may be no illegalities within the mayors administration, but there are breeches of the peace through his office. The city does not derive a debt to the State of Indiana, it does operate under the same jurisdiction, and that means authority. Mark Kruzan is being given a vote of no confidence because of the Separation of Church and State. He has become a rebel, and some of his actions have been worthy of accrediting, but in light of other circumstances in the city , such conducts will have negated such accreditation. He is a disgrace for not challenging Federal authority away from being an independent on the ballot, and does not deserve to remain the Mayor of Bloomington city government.

When I try to submit my message, I receive the following error: No that's wrong endpoints/open311ServerUnReachable. I am trying to submit it again. Message: I have tried to be patient and have quelled the white hot rage of frustration I've felt so many times this summer. I've NOT written at least a dozen times but after spending another morning trying to get to where I NEED to be and having every street blocked off or torn up I am going to express my displeasure. I truly view the managing of this latest street project to be irresponsible. It's one thing to be good stewards of the region's resources but it is another thing entirely to cock up the city so badly that no one can get from point A to point B and to disrupt lives for such an extended period of time. Furthermore, do you know what contributes most to depression? Randomness and uncontrollability. I feel like a dog in a learned-helplessness experiment that won't end. If you absolutely had to bring the city to a halt, could you not have mitigated it by warning us, not with some 3 line blurb in the paper which many of us don't read but loudly and profusely? It should be on every billboard in town. There should be a countdown on the city square telling people when the randomness will end. There should be huge warning signs everywhere saying "WARNING: This street will be closed from this time to that." Why aren't there policemen at 4-way stops during high traffic times? Why aren't there alternate routes? If you have so damned much extra money to tear up the city then sacrifice a street or two and use the money to minimize the sense of futility. Not everyone can add an extra 20 minutes to each trip they need to make. With a little information you could have turned it into a positive instead of a negative. Many of us are dealing with life and death situations on a daily basis. Many of us have stress-filled situations with young children, elderly parents, and jobs. Our schedules are tight and our lives are stretched thin. We're not thinking communally, we're surviving. At least with information we could plan around these wonderful improvements if not celebrate the "progress". And, to further show that I'm not a total idiot, I will concede that I know nothing about what it takes to run a city. I have no idea what challenges you are facing. Maybe all my ideas are stupid from a more informed perspective but I'm trying to give you a sense of what it feels like out here in the field. This is what John Doe trying to scrape by in his every day life is feeling. There is a limbic-gut-lizard-brain unreasoned urge to first, bite my steering wheel in half and second, to vote every government official possible out of office in the next election because they are either uncaring bastards or irresponsible dolts. This pain has been going on long enough and reinforced so intensely that it is emotionally encoded in my brain. I will have to fight against the urge the next time I vote. You really don't want people blindly voting just to get you out of office. There is enough blind voting going on as it is. If this insanity is going to last much longer, tell us. Do something, please. Thank you, Don Harris
