Drainage or Runoff

901-923 South Woodlawn Avenue

Case Date:
1/7/2018

On the southeast corner of the intersection at Woodlawn and Maxwell, runoff from the yard on that corner is causing significant ice accumulation on the road. It's impossible to pull up properly to the stop sign going north without veering into the middle of Woodlawn. I have lived on Maxwell for more than 20 years and don't recall seeing this problem before. There is a fire hydrant on the corner of the property, so perhaps this is the source of the water?

Drainage or Runoff

Case Date:

Water pools on NE corner of 11th/Lincoln intersection (formerly a sidewalk) and freezes. This is dangerous. Water pools at same location in summer and causes swampy conditions.

Water form the neighborhood is flowing into my yard causing floods and interior damage once saturated. I have a lot of video evidence. I am trying to repair damage on my own, but I can't keep up.

Water runoff is still an issue. I have reported this before and it is causing damage to my yard and basement. This area really needs a sidewalk or curb with storm drains.

Drainage or Runoff

704 E Winslow Farm DR

Case Date:

Note location should be Winslow Farm Community Association storm water retention pond (DO NOT contact this home address). Note: I live at 414 E Wylie Farm road. My question is should soil erosion in Winslow forest be abated since we have a lot of soil in our storm water detention pond that seems to highly likely have come from Winslow woods (accumulated since WFCA pond was constructed in 1995).

Drainage or Runoff

615-705 South Clifton Avenue

Case Date:
8/31/2017

During heavy rains, like this past tuesday, our driveway takes all of the storm run-off for the street because it has a reverse slope. This ends up flooding our garage and basement. We have installed extra drainage at the front of our garage and our neighbors have had an extensive gravel drain system landscaped that runs between our houses to help divert the water from the street as well. However, because of the extent of the water our two houses are taking for the street, we need the help of the city fully fix the drainage situations. Even with all the work that has been done, the water still pools in front of our driveway on the street and there is extensive erosion on the road. If photos are necessary I can take them during the next rain event. Thank you.

Attn Phil/ and ED, I have doubts a foot more will be deep enough. I have heard the roar of racing water in my backyard. It has moved some of the 30 to 40 pound stones I have placed to slow the erosion. Please consider a deep ditch. Thanks

Dear City of Bloomington Representative, Last night’s torrential rain brought a lot of water down our driveway from the street, some of which eventually ended up in our finished basement. We've lived at this address since 2009, and this has been a problem we've lived with since then. We’ve spent almost $15,000 on waterproofing our basement, installing storm drains at the bottom of our driveway, halfway down our driveway, and installing a berm on top of the driveway. Still, water that runs down the Anita Street takes a hard right into our driveway and overwhelms our systems. Anita Street slopes south to north, after it has turned from the east to west slope of East 2nd street. We believe a majority of the water coming down Anita Street actually ends up in our driveway. A lot of the water from the street also collects in the yard of our neighbor, Allyson Youat Schnable. Water that has come into our basement has damaged equipment, furniture, boxes and their contents, and is a threat to our foundation. I believe we have exhausted our options to comprehensively deal with the amount of storm water that is presented to us. We would love for the city to address the water coming down the street. I would be thrilled to talk to a city official about this problem. Many thanks, Maarten Bout Eastside Neighborhood 511 S Anita Street 812-219-3377
