A red Ford pick-up truck and a white Ford van are regularly parked in front of 613 and 619 S Eastside drive and both have a license plate that expired in Nov 2023. These vehicles are not abandoded, they are being used. Why has this escaped the watchful eye of the officer who drives his white Parking Enforcement car through our street several times a day?

What benefits are to be applicable to all employees in the upcoming year? This information is not easily available as certain programs were passed and allocated funding for apparently only a “trial basis”. Is paid parental leave still occurring? No information about this has been provided to staff or public for 2024. Additionally, where are the results of the salary study that was supposed to inform this upcoming years budget (voted on in 2023)? This information will already be behind, and the COLA is behind as it is not keeping pace with inflation or similar employers (see the County at 8.5% raise for 2024). Is any information going to be provided about how these things previously voted on by council are implemented, working, not working, etc.?
Where is information about the new commuter program? Is it true that electric vehicles get money back but hybrids don’t? There is still a cost barrier to most for getting electric vehicles so that doesn’t seem inclusive. Additionally, it seems many employees do not live in city limits and cannot afford to. Where is data on this? Most would not have access to biking routes or bus route. Is an alternative being thought of for those groups not eligible for this commuter program?
Residents look to a mayor to represent them and what the city stands for. If that is standing up to hate, or for a sustainable world, the Mayor should not be too cowardice to amplify voices, instead of already chasing the next election cycle. Absolutely things like resolutions should not be priority one, but it's hard to feel safe living in a community if our mayor will turn the other way when we and/or they are being legislated against, abused, slaughtered, or otherwise harmed. How about, "The buck stops here," instead of, "Not my problem," Mayor Thompson? You're starting to sound like IU, but I suppose that's where you last held leadership. Step up for your city.
The IU President is out of control, turning the police as a military force against student residents of this city peacefully protesting for peace. Issue a statement or otherwise take action that shows the leadership of this city stands with its residents and their ability to exercise their conscientious rights. Where is our Mayor during this time of crisis? Sad leadership void.
So now the city council joins the country and flag hating Mayor in their support of a terrorist mob who wants to see ALL Jews eliminated. What a surprise! All of you sit on your Lilly white asses and defend terrorist and groups that support terrorists (Like Black Lives Matter). But you do nothing for the citizens of Bloomington except increase the burden on them for EVERYTHING. As a city employee and a proud Veteran, I cannot put into words my disappointment and outrage at the people who are supposed to be leaders of this community. You all are a joke and should resign in shame. My wish as someone who proudly served and who comes from a long line of military service would be that all of you and the childish mob on campus would be rounded up and flown to Palestine and left! If the Mayor truly stands with Hamas and the terrorist supporting mob she should immediately resign and take her whole staff with her. I wonder how Jewish employees of the city of Bloomington feel knowing their “leader” agrees that they should all be eliminated. It would be great to actually see a person in that office with an actual spine. If she will not resign then the taxpayers in Bloomington should immediately begin the efforts for a recall. And all of the signs that say no place for hate should all be taken down. Kerry has praise for hate and racism.
