I’m at the SE corner of Maxwell and Sheridan. There appears to be water pooling on east side of Sheridan near the western entrance to my driveway. I noticed ice here a few times last winter but thought it was just frozen road runoff and it wasn’t super cold last year so ice build-up wasn’t significant. But it’s been well below freezing and there shouldn’t be standing water. I didn’t observe anything like this in the spring, summer or fall. I assume there’s a small water line leak underground, perhaps underneath the road. The road is cracked along the edge so there may be some freeze/thaw going on. It doesn’t seem to be an emergency — the flow seems pretty minimal but it does generate some ice south of the wet area when below freezing. I wanted to report this now that I realize what is going on. I placed a stake with orange flagging tape in the area where it seems like water is coming to the surface. Thanks for looking into this. There is a giant pothole next to our driveway, so every time we pull our car out it gets stuck in it. We are worried that our cars will get damaged or someone will fall and injure themselves.

Alley way between S Fess Ave (behind 612 S Fess Ave) and S Henderson Avenue (side of 609 S Henderson Ave) - getting large pot holes that are getting progressively worse

This morning, my large recycling bin had been shoved through my lawn with such force that it left a 15" gouge. I can't imagine this was done by a person pushing the bin. I believe it was caused by the lifting arm of the truck being used to push the bin across the sidewalk. I witnessed the arm being used in this way a few weeks ago when the same bin was pushed with such force that its wheels snapped off and had to be repaired by the sanitation department. I would like someone to investigate the way the truck arms are being used and train the sanitation crews to avoid damaging property. I would also like someone to patch my lawn.

4 bird scooters have been on our sidewalk and in our yard since I woke up this morning. Currently they are in the gutter: 701 S Highland. There are also scooters on the sidewalk, standing as well as fallen, along Ballantine, near 2nd (we saw about 3 locations right around there on our walk home). Thank you!

There are 4 scooters outside my house. Measuring from the point farthest inward on the sidewalk, they leave 31" of room between them and the curb; less near the ramp to the street. They were right along our yard. Last night I sent a note about the 4 from the previous day; it was sent at about 5 and was going to be looked in to that day. At 9 when I went to bed, they were still there.

701 S Highland--there are 8 scooters here today; none have been taken. They are taking up parking spaces in the street and are an eyesore. If I cannot park my car in front of my own house without buying a permit, are these really allowed to do so? I would like them taken out of the neighborhood--they've been festering for the last week or so, and we are not a scooter-riding neighborhood.

I think the scooters, as currently used, are a bad idea. They are dangerous to riders and pedestrians and pose a hazard to motorists, besides clutter our sidewalks. Environmentally, I think of them as a large-scale manifestation of the American disposable razor mentally. At the very least, they need to be thoughtfully regulated. If not banned entirely, then, as motorized vehicles, they should be confined to streets or bike lanes and obey traffic laws, with fines resulting for violations. While we are at it, bicycles should not be allowed on sidewalks either. I am all for low carbon emissions, but I am not convinced the scooters are a safe and green alternative to walking or biking or taking a bus.
