2 things: (1) large city tree at SE corner of Sare and Mill Stone Way severely damaged, broken and dangling branches causing hazard for drivers -dangerous, needs immediate attention; (2) damage caused by water main being hit during Smithville contractor work, the same corner is in disarray, lawns torn up, streets are a mess, and city drain affected.

Two sinkholes have formed, one at the corner of Claybridge Dr and Sare Rd, the other about 30 ft up the sidewalk on Claybridge, after recent neighborhood groundwork that had been done by the contractor for Bloomington Gigabit Now Fiber project. The sinkholes are a hazard to pedestrians and are in need of repair as soon as possible.

The portion of my property with a utilities right of way and that I am maintain is now blocked in a hazardous way. I open my gate as of yesterday May 2, 2024 to a deep 2-3 foot hole that now has 2 large pipes sticking up above ground level constituting a direct hazard to my rightful access. The company (Flagship Underground-phone: 773-964-9045) claims to be laying fiberoptic cable and said they were trying to locate the sewer and gas lines. What can you do to have these pipes moved and/or buried so that they not blocking my gate and presenting a tripping and access hazard? Thank you, Martha Nyikos

Reported by Joanne Freeman to me. Unfinished AT&T fiber project started last summer has left exposed conduit, foot-deep holes and sand fill in rights of way (meaning grass doesn't grow). She wants City inspectors to contact Michael or Sharon Dalton who are the property managers for the subdivision to get this situation addressed. AT&T has been unresponsive to neighborhood contact. A worker painted on the road at the intersection. The worker was standing on the double lines. I noticed the worker and signaled that I would be negotiating a left turn onto North Drive headed east. The worker walked in front of my vehicle. The worker was unaware of his surroundings, nor had he seemed concerned about using safety equipment, i.e., cones, caution tape, spotters, or hazard lights. I was not traveling at a high rate of speed. However, this could have been a bad traffic accident. I believe the worker's hearing was obstructed as he wore a sweatshirt with a hard hat atop his head.

I submitted a report yesterday, May 5, 2023. As my husband and I thought back through the week... it was Tuesday morning, May 2, 2023 when this happened. Driving south on Rogers at 8:15am. A work sign crashed into my car. The worker and I examined the side of the car. At home, I saw that the antennae has been slashed; there is also some damage to the top of the car in front of the antennae. My case number is #183678 and was given to Adam Weson to handle. The construction of under ground cable in our neighborhood is a disaster. It has been going on for months & the second gas leak on Thursday was not handled by the crew very well at all. The smell was terrible, the danger worse & no evacuation order was communicated. Our yards are a mess & cables have been sticking up in our yards since January with it seems no purpose. AEG & AT &T need to repair & leave our neighborhood.
