While walking my dog in lower cascade park yesterday, I noticed parking lots were full and people were parking in grass area since most of the parking spaces are blocked off. It is unusually warm this year so it may be a good idea to open up the parking lots early this year.
I don't like th enew pool pass system. I lost mine, and quite a bit of money as a result. Please go back to keeping them at the pool, or make them electronic somehow.
There has been extensive vandalism to the Bryan Park split rail fence that runs along Woodlawn Avenue.
The parking lot in Bryan Park near the sand volleyball court along Henderson has a problem. On the north side of the main play structure in the play surface there is a decent sized hole. This hole is big enough that a child or adult could easily step in it and be injured. The hole is through a rubber type play surface covering the ground. I'd recommend repairing this if possible.
I'd like to address that there is severe mold issues on the pickleball and tennis courts at RCA park. The black mildew/mold issue has caused numerous instances with pickleball play and tennis play becoming a safety issue due to how slippery the surface get's. Many people have been slipping lately because the mold creates a very slippery surface. I'd like to suggest and request that someone comes to take a look at the issues near the back of the courts towards the woods. I'm worried about a mallard nest in the park - that the mom and eggs will survive with dogs etc. in the park. Just wanted to make you aware. It's located in the weedy area around the ditch that flows north to south, near a bird house.
Hi, There is a substantial amount of poison ivy along the path that cuts through the middle of Bryan Park, especially toward the east. It's right at dog/toddler height. Could this be eradicated? Thank you.
Dear Parks and Rec, Thanks for getting new pool lounge chairs at Bryan Park Pool! The other moms and I were just about over the broken old ones. Hopefully these new ones will last longer than the previous ones, which were almost always broken. The new ones have a better design. At high traffic times, I noted that people were still wandering around to find somewhere to sit or lay. Perhaps ordering a dozen more would be a good idea. Additionally, though people can certainly bring their own lawn chairs, I think it would be a good idea to have a dozen regular plastic chairs available for people who cannot sit comfortably on the low-to-the-ground pool lounge chairs. It's hard for grandparents or people with limited mobility to get up and down from the loungers. Thank you, Lucy Fischman 823 S. Fess Ave.
