Received an anonymous voice mail in ESD with a phone # 317-468-3545. He is complaining of a potential business going in at this address where there are tents & smokers in the back. His main complaint is the smoke generating from this location is annoying to the neighbors. Reported written by Susan Coates.
Raw sewage from cleanout all over between sidewalk and street. This has happened sporadically for years, but several times in the last month.
There is a sewer access in the verge in front/slightly to the west of 930 w 6th. It looks like it has overflowed with sewage waste. It has happened a couple of times before and I believe it was cleaned up but this week it overflowed badly again and there’s currently no cap on the pipe.
There is a syringe along the road about half way between 6th and 7th on Oak street. It is right across the street from the very large sycamore tree on the west side.

All the storm water runoff from the White Oak Cemetery basin, during very hard rains, cannot be handled by the 4-storm drains near the intersection of 7th and Oak Streets. The excess is diverted through the gravel parking of our neighbor at 1025 W 7th, washing the gravel onto the street. The storm water then turns and washes through the alley between 6th & 7th Streets. It then goes through our carport and yard washing our mulch away in places. Oak street was paved in the past and is higher than the storm drain at 7th and Oak so any excess water has do go through the gravel parking instead of down the street. I would be happy to meet someone to look at this problem. Thanks.
The North/South alley between 810 W. 7th and 804 W. 7th is being encroached upon by gardens, woodpiles, trees/vegetation and possibly the fence and cinder block garage owned by 810 W 7th St. As a result, the alley traffic is being diverted outside of the alley right of way and onto the private property located at 804 W. 7th. This appears to have been going on for a number of years. As the new owner of 804 W. 7th St., it is my full intention to re-claim the property/property line currently being encroached upon and proceed with renovations. I request that the Street Dept contact the owner of 810 W. 7th and order the encroachments be removed. With the assistance of a surveyor, I have located the NW and SW corner pins delineating the right of way and pounded new T posts just outside of the right of way in those spots and plan to post the entire property line once the encroachments are removed. Were I to reclaim the property line today, the alley would become impassible due to said encroachments. I request your assistance in remedying this situation in a civil and legal manner, as requests to the homeowner of 810 W.7th have fallen upon deaf ears. I request that you keep me in the loop regarding this issue. I would be happy to meet with a representative of the street dept, with survey in hand, to assist in clarifying and remedying this issue, as renovations of 804 W. 7th will begin in a few weeks. There appears to be a water leak underneath the medium/easement in front of the house at 934 W. Kirkwood Avenue between the bus stop and the tree.
There has been a PT Cruiser (license plate 612PBD) parked in front of this address since August 2020 at the very least. It has more than one completely flat tire, and license plates dated from 2019. Note in the window states it is a neighbor's car, but that they use bikes more often. This car has not moved at all, and appears completely abandoned in prime street parking, within a neighborhood where parking can be quite tricky.
Several complaints have been filed regarding the speeding and noise level of Tow Time Towing Company trucks. We are seeing a reoccurrence of these concerns during the past 2 weeks.
