Attempted to contact Center Point but had no luck. The gas shutoff valve in front of Inkwell has its handle not secured by a padlock. Needs to be secured before someone decides to play with it. Regards, Craig
This building is missing and has damaged emergency exit signs throughout the complex. Exposed live wires and light fixtures are rampant. The building's emergency system has been beeping an alarm for over two weeks.
I was burning leaves today, unaware of the city policy. The fire department came to my house, kindly asked me to extinguish the fire, and informed me about our policy. Even though I had done wrong, they were kind and helpful, which made it a pleasant learning experience for me. I love that in a town this size, people are so friendly and positive. Thank you city of Bloomington.
Our neighbors have reported various readings/interpretations of the city ordinance and related policies on fire pits. Are these allowed? Under what conditions?
Hello, I have concern about the back row of apartments at The Crossing on Pete Ellis. There is limited space (about 3 feet) between the wooden patio fences and forest area. People smoke and throw cigarettes over balconies. Maintenance workers also smoke during the day. Currently they are working on painting indoor at some apartments, painting outdoor hallways and working on patios. Could you please help ensure safety of the residents? Thank you.
While living at Terra Trace (321 E. 14th St) from 2020-2022 there were a lot of problems but one that should absolutely not be dismissed. I am disappointed that no one seems to realize the seriousness of this. On Aug 17, 2021, my neighbors set their stove on fire. Once I noticed the smoke smell, I went to the hallway to see what was going on and my neighbor explained what happened. They didn't know what to do so I pulled the fire alarm and it did not go off. I had to alert everyone by knocking on their doors to let them know the building wasn't safe and we needed to get out. I was told my claim was false and inaccurate. After some minor internet searches, I found that there was a fire here in 2011 (if I remember correctly) that killed a student. After finding this out, I knew I had to do more. I feel as if this apartment complex needs to be reevaluated for safety of the residents still living there. I will also be willing to provide more information, videos, etc about this incident. Upland At 350 w 11th st consistantly puts an obstacle in front of an exit to prevent people from using the entrance/exit in the winter. Today the door is even locked preventing exit.
Unusual smell in the neighborhood this evening. Smells like some sort of petroleum distillate (which is why we're concerned = flammable?). Noticed not long after a train passed by. Went back near the tracks and it is strong there, but still very evident out front, on the street. persistent for the past hour or so.
Is this fire hydrant broken? Would it work if there were a fire?
