Let me first welcome you to the City of Bloomington Utilities Website. Here you will find many helpful tools from starting services to paying your bill. these online tools can be real time savers!

The City of Bloomington Utilities is a municipally-owned water, wastewater, and stormwater utility serving the residents of Bloomington. CBU operates under the guidance of the citizen-run Utilities Service Board, which is appointed by the Mayor and City Council.

CBU is responsible for the treatment and distribution of drinking water for the city of Bloomington and surrounding area through the ownership and operation of the Monroe Water Treatment Plant. As sole provider of water to Monroe County, we strive to produce a product that meets and exceeds all Federal, State, and Local regulations. Access our latest Water Quality information here.

The City of Bloomington Utilities also handles the collection, treatment, and disposal of wastewater (sanitary sewers) through the ownership and operation of two wastewater treatment facilities (Dillman Road and Blucher Poole) along with several lift stations.

Since 1998, CBU has also managed the collection and disposal of stormwater for the City of Bloomington.

The City of Bloomington Utilities employs approximately 175 full- and part-time employees that work hard to provide quality service to Bloomington residents.
