Workforce Housing in Bloomington
Workforce housing provides housing for families and individuals whose income falls above the threshold to qualify for affordable housing, but below the income necessary to pay for market-rate housing. To qualify for workforce housing in Bloomington, your household income must fall between 80% and 120% of the area median income (AMI), as calculated be the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). See the table below for income limits for 2023.
Within the city of Bloomington, there are currently 254 rental housing units classified as workforce housing. 228 of these units are coming online in the fall of 2023, and the three locations listed in the table below. Who is Eligible for Workforce Housing?
Eligibility for workforce housing is based upon total household income, which must fall within the range of 80% to 120% of the Area Median Income (AMI), as calculated by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Please refer to the table below for information about these income ranges. Each figure represents the maximum income for eligibility.
