Bloomington, IN - The City of Bloomington Police Department will host a Neighborhood Watch Community Workshop on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, at 7 p.m. The meeting will take place at Police Headquarters, 220 East Third St. The event is free and open to the public and members of neighborhood associations are especially encouraged to attend.

The primary focus of the workshop will be to bring together neighborhood representatives and members of the Police Department to establish community-watch priorities and set goals for 2006 and beyond.

Topics of discussion will include a look at neighborhood safety concerns, the police response to such issues, plus alternative solutions. We also will study the current neighborhood-watch reporting system in regard to improving communications among the neighborhoods, the Police Department and other agencies that work together to solve community issues.

We hope interested individuals will attend so that together we can chart a path for the Neighborhood Watch Program and attempt to address community problems and quality of life issues proactively.
