Bloomington, IN -- Mayor Mark Kruzan announced today that the Latino Outreach Division of the City of Bloomington Community and Family Resources Department will partner with the Monroe County Public Library to offer a basic Internet course taught in Spanish. This course is available to Spanish speakers with very little knowledge or no knowledge of English and who are interested in learning Internet basics.

The first class was held on Wednesday, Feb. 15 from 10 a.m. - noon in the Indiana Room of the Public Library followed by three subsequent classes on Feb. 22, March 1 and March 8. Space is limited.

In addition to the Internet course, support services to the Spanish-speaking community will be provided at the Library beginning Monday, Feb. 20. Services include scheduling doctor's appointments, translating documents, calling to connect and disconnect utilities, completing Hoosier Healthwise applications, and initiating the childcare application process. These services will be offered biweekly from 10 a.m. - noon in Room 2C of the Public Library.
