Bloomington, IN -- Don't miss your opportunity to see what the stork has brought the City of Bloomington Animal Shelter! The shelter has puppies and kittens of all shapes, sizes and personalities ready and available for adoption.

These new babies increase the shelter's need for food, blankets, toys and treats. Most importantly, however, these small baby critters need forever-loving homes.

The shelter has basset, chow, shepherd, pitbull, lab and aussie pups and continues to take in new dogs every day. In addition, the shelter continues to receive box after box of cute, fluffy and playful kittens in a rainbow of colors.

If you would like to become a new pet parent, please visit the shelter to pick out your very own bundle of joy. Citizens can bring a donation to the shelter and receive a $15 discount off the price of adopting a puppy or kitten 6 months or younger. All kittens and puppies are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. The regular adoption fee for puppies and kittens is $75.

Prospective pet parents can visit adoptable animals at the City of Bloomington Animal Shelter located at 3410 South Walnut. The shelter is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. and Tuesday and Friday from noon to 7 p.m. Adoptable animals can also be seen on Saturday mornings at the Bloomington Community Farmers' Market (401 N Morton) and can be viewed on the shelter Web site at [www.bloomington.in.gov/animalshelter|www.bloomington.in.gov/adopt-today/].

If you are not ready to adopt but would still like to help, the shelter continues to need volunteers and foster homes. Ask at the shelter or visit the City of Bloomington Animal Shelter Web site to learn more about these opportunities.
