[image:1795,right]Bloomington, IN - The public is invited to join the City of Bloomington and WFHB as they celebrate October as Be Diverse Bloomington Month, as part of the Be Bloomington community character campaign.

The festival celebration, called Diversity Day, will take place Sunday, Oct. 15 in Third Street Park, located between Third and Washington Streets. The party will begin at 2 p.m. with live bands including Kwyjibo, Valeria DeCastro and Bloomington funk legends the Dynamics. In between sets, participants can hear spoken-word performances by Patricia Coleman and other local poets and world music by WFHB volunteer disc jockeys.

Diversity Day also will feature an information fair staffed by local organizations that embrace diversity and civility. These organizations include: the Bloomington Beacon GLBT Outreach Center; the local Unitarian Universalist Church; and Cubamistad, Bloomington's Cuban Sister City Project.

The event has activities for the entire family. Children's activities and food also will be available.
