City Announces Neighborhood Cleanups

Bloomington, IN -- The [City of Bloomington's Housing and Neighborhood Development (HAND) Department|/sections/viewSection.php?section_id=126] announced today that applications are available for the 2007 Neighborhood Cleanup Program. The program gives neighborhood residents an opportunity to improve their neighborhoods with the help of City resources.

HAND chooses two neighborhoods to participate in a Neighborhood Cleanup through a competitive application process. Neighborhood Associations that best demonstrate through their applications the need and ability to conduct a successful cleanup are awarded a HAND-sponsored Neighborhood Cleanup.

The Neighborhood Cleanups can be held on one of the following Saturdays: April 28, May 19, June 9 or June 23, 2007. The neighborhood organizes the event and provides volunteers; HAND provides dumpsters, Hazmat, chipper service, tire disposal and safety vests.
