Bloomington, IN -- Mayor Mark Kruzan announced today that the exhibition, "Takes Two to Tango," will be on display in the City Hall Atrium, 401 N Morton St., March 6-30, 2007. Facilitated by local artist Joe LaMantia, the exhibition is a [image:2144,left] community collaborative art project featuring multiple wooden Yin-Yang signs each decorated to demonstrate the ArtsWeek theme, "Technology and the Arts."

LaMantia was joined by individual artists and organizations such as the Bloomington Area Arts Council, Pinnacle School, Lotus Education and Arts Foundation, Stone Belt, Indiana University's Office of Community Outreach and Partnerships in Service-Learning, Hope School of Fine Arts, School of Medicine and Kinsey Institute to create one-of-a-kind pieces.

The Yin-Yang creations were recently displayed throughout downtown Bloomington along Kirkwood Avenue and on the IU campus in celebration of Indiana University's ArtsWeek. The signs were affixed to downtown light poles with the assistance of the City of Bloomington Public Works Department.

A reception will be held this Friday, March 9 beginning at 5 p.m. in the Atrium. It is free and open to the public.
