Kruzan Announces Simpson and Pierce Join GE Response Team

Bloomington, IN - Mayor Mark Kruzan announced today that State Senator Vi Simpson and State Representative Matt Pierce have joined the Coordinating Team established last week to develop and implement a community action plan in response to the potential closure of the GE refrigeration plant in Bloomington.

"Both Vi and Matt have been instrumental working with the Governor's office for the past three weeks on potential State resources to assist with the GE situation," Kruzan said. "I really appreciate their willingness to continue helping by serving on the Coordinating Team to help GE workers, their families and our community best manage this significant challenge."

Kruzan will convene the team this month so it can develop plans regarding: employee assistance, community financial impact and site reutilization.
