Bloomington, IN - It wasn't long before the familiar riffs of The Swinging Steaks filled the Atrium at City Hall and had the public coming in off the streets to enjoy a free, lunchtime concert. Before the free hour-long performance was over, The Steaks had played some of their best known tunes and brought the crowd to their feet in appreciation. For the second straight year, the band dropped in for an impromptu concert at Bloomington City Hall on its way to various gigs around Indiana.
"We love having The (Swinging) Steaks play in Bloomington," said Maria Heslin, Deputy Mayor for the City of Bloomington. "They're long-time favorites around here, and it's great they take the time to play for us and add to our community character."
The band came through Bloomington as part of the City's Be Downtown Bloomington campaign, an initiative to raises awareness for various social, economic and cultural projects taking place Downtown.
