City of Bloomington Fire Department Conducts Training Exercises at the Fire Training Tower

[Battalion Chief of Training Robert Stumpf addresses his teams prior to an exercise.|image:2907] This week, the City of Bloomington Fire Department has been simulating fire scenarios and training with live fires at the Training Tower. The exercises represent the first time that the entire department has run through live simulations here in Bloomington, something facilitated by the construction of the facility, the City's first Training Tower, in 2007. Fire Chief Roger Kerr said that roughly 10 other facilities of its kind currently operate in the state of Indiana.
Drills included repelling, simulated basement fires, apartment building and dorm fires and aerial rescues.
