Bloomington Community Arts Commission Announces Applications are Available for the Arts Project Grant Program

Bloomington, IN - The Bloomington Community Arts Commission (BCAC) announces that applications are now available for the Spring Cycle of 2008 Arts Project Grant Program. Deadline for applications is October 1st. The BCAC encourages all eligible artists and organizations to apply.

Grants of up to $1,000 can be awarded to both individual artists and nonprofit organizations who participate in arts activities which align with the mission of the BCAC, which is to stimulate the appreciation and development of artistic activities and educational programs in the City of Bloomington. "We're thrilled to be able to offer opportunities for artists and nonprofit organizations to make an impact on their community through the arts," said Les Coyne, chair of the BCAC. "The artistic activities supported through these grants help Bloomington be a place where the arts are enjoyed by all."

The applications for projects beginning between December 1-April 1, 2009 will be due on October 1, 2008 as part of the Spring Cycle. All activities supported through the grant must be located within the City of Bloomington.

Interested artists and nonprofit organizations are encouraged to visit www.bloomington.in.gov/bead to download an application. Questions can be directed to Miah Michaelsen, Assistant Economic Development Director for the Arts, at michaelm@bloomington.in.gov or (812) 349-3534.
