Bloomington, IN - The City of Bloomington recently was recognized as a Playful City U.S.A. by KaBOOM!, a national organization, which has a mission to promote unstructured play throughout the country. In celebration of this designation, the City is hosting Neighborhood Play Day on Sunday, Sept. 28, at multiple parks from 2-4p.m. as an opportunity for all Bloomington residents to enjoy the many parks in our community and spend time outdoors with friends and families.
"This is an important designation for our city because it really captures the community condition and character that help make Bloomington unique from so many other places," said Mick Renneisen, the City's Parks and Recreation Director. "Our parks and the very special natural amenities that we enjoy are important aspects to this community, and I hope many of our residents will take their families out to enjoy this special day."
City staff will be on hand at each of the following parks from 2-4p.m.:
Broadview Park
Bryan Park
Rev. Ernest D. Butler Park
Highland Village Park
Olcott Park
