Bloomington, IN - The City of Bloomington invites all to attend a public meeting on the proposed project to install a traffic signal at the intersection of Atwater Avenue and Henderson Street.
City staff and Brock Ridgeway of Eagle Ridge Civil Engineering Services, LLC will make a brief presentation, followed immediately by a comprehensive question and answer session.
The meeting will be held in the City of Bloomington Council Chambers, 401 N. Morton Street, from 5:30-7pm on Wednesday, October 1.
In addition to questions made at the meeting, written comments will be accepted now through October 22. Please submit all written comments to Joyce Williams, Project Engineer at the City's Public Works Department, at PO Box 100, Bloomington, IN 47402, or williajo@bloomington.in.gov.
The project proposal is the product of the City's desire to increase safety for both pedestrians and drivers at this intersection, which has seen a continual increase in accidents with increased traffic. Providing signalization would make the intersection more pedestrian-friendly and allow for a systematic flow of traffic while narrowing the existing pavement.
The public meeting will allow residents to offer opinions and suggestions as well as ask detailed questions about the purpose and design of the plan.
For more information, please contact Williams at 349-3590.
