Mini-Bike Dance Troupe to Perform at City's Tuesday Market

Bloomington, IN - The City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department and the Bloomington Entertainment and Arts District (BEAD) welcome The Sprockettes, an all-female, synchronized mini-bike dance troupe to the Tuesday Market July 14 at 6 p.m.

Tuesday Market, located at Sixth and Madison Streets next to Bloomingfoods Near West Side, is held every Tuesday through September from 4-7 p.m. Other Tuesday Market events on July 14 include a live musical performance by singer/songwriter Cathi Norton plus a 10% discount off purchases of fresh, locally grown farm products from participating Market vendors.

The Sprockettes, founded in Portland, Ore. in 2004, are on the Midwest leg of a national tour. Their mission is to entertain while promoting bicycle advocacy, positive self-image for all body types, alternative transportation solutions and environmental kindness.

The Sprockettes have appeared at festivals, parades, and other events throughout the country as well as internationally. Their performance at the Tuesday Market July 14 concludes a two-date engagement in Bloomington. They will also perform at Boxcar Books, 408 E. Sixth St. on Monday, July 13 at 8 p.m. in the store's parking lot.

Both performances are free, although donations to the group are welcome. To find out more about the Sprockettes and their mission, [click here|www.sprockettes.org].
