Bloomington, IN - The City of Bloomington and Downtown Bloomington, Inc. (DBI) invite the community to grab some lunch and shop downtown on Tuesday, Sept. 22, from 11:30 - 1 p.m. for live music, free giveaways and raffles as part of the Be Downtown Bloomington campaign and the Tuesday Lunch Concert Series at People's Park on the corner of Kirkwood Avenue and Dunn Street.

The event celebrates Bloomington's diverse downtown with sample items from many local restaurants, Voster Kettle Corn, apple cider provided by Bloomingfoods and a performance by the 02R Blues Band. Free samples of pumpkin ice cream from the Chocolate Moose and pumpkinseed cranberry trailmix from Kilroy's also will be available. The first 125 people in attendance will also receive a mini-pumpkin featuring a special offer from a downtown business or eatery. Information on DBI, City Parks and Recreation Department and Be Bloomington future events will be available, as well.

"I hope employees from downtown businesses, students, residents, visitors and anyone else looking to enjoy the beauty and energy of Bloomington's downtown in the fall will come down and join us," said City Deputy Mayor Maria Heslin. "This is an opportunity for us to share as a community the treasure that is our downtown, and to eat, shop, play and enjoy the music and festive atmosphere, which will make this a really fun event."

Talisha Coppock, Executive Director of DBI, also encouraged residents to join the celebration.

"Downtown is a community gathering place," said Coppock. "We want to celebrate our diversity of our local shops and restaurants, and I encourage all to take a break over the noon hour and welcome fall."
