Tickets for 2010 MLK Celebration Available at Buskirk-Chumley Box Office Next Week

Bloomington, IN
-Tickets for the 2010 City of Bloomington Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration, which will feature keynote speaker Rev. Jesse Jackson, will be available beginning Monday, Jan. 11, at 11 a.m. at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater Box Office, 114 E. Kirkwood Avenue.

Although free and open to the public, the January 18 program is a ticketed event because of the Theater's limited seating capacity. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis until all have run out. Due to anticipated high attendance, there is a limit of two tickets per person. Ticket holders must be seated prior to 7 p.m. the day of the event or they will forfeit their seats.

The MLK Celebration will be aired live by CATS and also will be shown live in the City Hall Council Chambers, 401 N. Morton Street, beginning at 7 p.m.

The Indiana University African American Choral Ensemble, directed by Professor Keith McCutchen, will be performing at the event, along with local musical acts Kaia and Margaret Chun, winner of the 2009 Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Nu Alpha Alpha Chapter Talent Hunt Program.
